Perhaps this was one of you...spotted today around lunchtime on City Road, London.

Drinking pints of bitter, singing along to either the background music in the pub or maybe the sound effects from the unit which is a rare one in that it has the sound turned up quite high. A beanie hat keeping in check some slightly unkempt greying hair; a mid-length leather jacket; and, fingerless gloves. You were clearly there for the machine as you kept glancing around to check no-one had jumped on whilst you were getting your second pint in. Dexterity around the screen was consistent with someone who plays these a lot although performance betrayed an ability somewhat short of top-boy level.

Any takers?

Hmmm. The clues are there - the beanie hat, the slightly odd behaviour, the drinking at lunchtime, the slightly less than top level skills. Only one candidate I reckon...

The fingerless gloves make me think it could be more like this...

Funnily enough Topical, i reckon that sans hat this would not have been too far off the mark.

This guy sounds like it could be a player in the Quiz League of London NM - I'll not name him here but the hair, beanie, frequent but not enormously good play, are all suggestive.

Yes, Grecian, almost certainly him.

Apple pie or Syrup sponge with your custard for you? Just wondering.

Was that one aimed at me Pike- if it has, it has sailed right over my head.

No mate to Grecian, my cryptic way of checking if we were thinking of the same candidate for your mystery player. Sorry for confusion. :-))
