Just thought I'd say hello.
I am a long retired Quiz Machine player who paid his way through college playing Ten Quid Grid, Bar Quest and QoS.
I was just wasting my time surfing the net when I found this forum, and some of the threads brought back some happy memories.
I haven't played a quiz machine for many years, they are far too difficult these days!

Welcome, welcome. I used to love Ten Quid Grid. I seem to recall it had a boost feature.
Funny how when it wanted to stop you it resorted to a blank grid and basically asked 36 questions (or was it 42?)
These days that's what most games ask you as standard to win about £1.
How times have changed. Not necessarily for the better.

If I remember correctly there were two versions of TQG.
The first one gave you one or two lives per game.
The second version was even better.. it gave you "free answers" which could be kept from one game to the next.
So when you only needed a small amount of questions you kept the free answers until you had won a couple of tenners and you had to answer all 36 questions to win another £10.
It was the only time in the history of Quiz Machines (while I was playing them at least) when a new version of a machine was considerably easier to win on than the old one.
I don't know how many questions there were on a TQG machine, but I pretty much learned them all and could play the machine until it had no more money to pay!
