To the quizzing fraternity - I feel a little sorry that fruit machines have been press ganged into the mix on quiz machines - it will only heighten the hopper content issues if there is indeed some kind of manipulation going on.
This surely is an act of greed and desperation on the part of manufacturers. Being a fruit machine player in the main, I do enjoy a good 10-20 mins on each quiz machine I play with the missus in a pub.
Being offered the fruit machine option is an annoyance at best as the fruit machine psyche is often hovering in the direction of "is it worth a quid to see if it's ready" whilst in the middle of a Pub Quiz round. I don't like this intrusion into my mind whilst I'm in quizzing mode.
Another problem would be the hordes of players that will hog the machine for non grey matter purposes in the pursuit of a £5 Jackpot.
I see the games look nice, obviously a little more effort has gone in to the deal as they will potentially be able to make more money, quicker. Shame some of the quiz games haven't been thought through as well.
Finally, I feel that whilst a valid post at the outset, this thread rapidly descended into "who's got the trick then" mode which really ought to warrant moving this to the fruit machine section - or at least the elements that wouldn't warrant discussion in here.
It just doesn't feel right to have lashings of the fruit machine forum in this section that I would otherwise enjoy reading.
Oh, and as an aside - I don't see myself as an uneducated man, however after seeing the quiz programme "Only Connect" for the first time, I found myself rapidly feeling a smug pride in being able to get just one or two questions right during the whole of the programme. On reflection I'm quite alarmed about that. Now if done well, that would be a good quiz conversion.

please do not move this thread (yet)
although obviously if there is anything to know, people will want to know..
however, i wanted the quiz section guys' input to this,
were they aware of this? i know a couple of the guys on here have contact with the companies that develop the games?
is this a test run? £5 jackpots are license exempt, so there woldnt be a limit to how many there are on the machines!

I've seen a couple like this but not recently. It's no longer on the units I saw it on. I assumed then that it was a test basis only because Paragons appear to update pretty quickly. Then again I have no idea how long a "test" placing lasts.Spyder wrote:please do not move this thread (yet)
