I'm a Paragon switcheroo - are you?

My Vote goes to Kudos... it's the best looking boy on the block at the moment, and the selection of games (albeit the same as Gamesnet) is good.

KUDOS for me by a street from the three main cabinets (ItBox, Paragon, Gamesnet) with the other ones not too far behind. I don't care how a machine looks or operates as long as the thing works (although a special vote must go to the Open, whose menu system remains the single stupidest system I have seen on a quiz machine in 20+ years ). Game selection is everything and for me the 'big boys' have all hit a real low point at the same time.

it won't surprise anyone to know that i voted for Paragon. although these kudos machines do seem generous, ergonomic and sleek, there are so few of them (near me anyway) it would be like a vote for the the-only-thing-i-care-about-is-me party.
so i vote paragon for playability, diverseness of content and style.

Open for me I think. Yes, the menu system is stupid, they have a lot of bugs, and occasionally thieve your cash. But the game selection remains first class and, with Kudos, they are the only things I get at all excited about at the moment. I think it's probably true to say there are no absolutely stand-out cabinets at the moment, but few really duff ones either.

The DICE machines are a variant of the Opens with a fixed menu system (i.e. the same games always available), with games split between £1 'Premium' games on the front screen and 50p games on the second screen. The games selection is smaller than the theoretical selection available on the Open, although that of course relies on the whims of how the Open navigates you through its menu system.

Voted Paragon, but of the terminals listed I can't say I've seen anything other than itboxes, Paragons and Gamesnets. Living in Cumbria I'm probably another two years away from seeing the other terminals.

Gamesnets have a small choice of (usually poor) games, and itboxes need redesigned underneath. Too often it happens that I win £4 or £5, only for £3 to fall down the chute. I've often torn and rolled up cardboard menus in order to scrape down pound coins that don't fall out. I'm currently designing a "Coin Claw" to ensure no more pounds are stolen from me.

paragon for me too.choice based on small returns from these units as opposed to almost zero from other makes.

If you have been playing quiz machines as long as you claim, surely you have learnt by now that easy money is almost never available (Connect 4-style glitches aside). Money earned from hard work and practice is however a different matter.

well I would be interested in (as usual) Quizmasters opinion on Kudoses. The approach between Pro's and non pro's may be a lot different.I dont as a rule unless I am in learning mode stay in a pub for more than 40 minutes and limit myself to 3-5 different games on each machine.I also have a pecking order and although there are games that I would play on a Kudos the absence of any of my best games on the units means playing one is a pointless exercise for me.The other local pro agrees with me (not a contributor to the forum).Even if the games get better the machine is still a horrible looking beast although the look of it wont deter me away from playing it!
