word up gossip
I think it was probably just an opportunity-spot - maybe there was EPIZ or something. (There are a fair amount of EPI- words: 81 8 letter]SCHLIMAZEL[/b] would be good. Tho' apparently it means 'a born loser' so maybe not the best to have by your name on the scoreboard. The new dictionary is turning me into a bit of a UP-style word-hunter. There's an absolute beauty I'm looking for atm that will make him cream his pants when I report it.

without wishing to sound like the old broken record, my main beef with scrabble (and therefore the current version of WU) is that it is not a word game but a building game where the blocks happen to be letters. the structures it recognises include many and several arbitrary foreign words (irresponsibly transliterated) which pollute lexicology. this is just my opinion but it is one in which i believe vehemently.
if sowpods decided to give serious scrabble players even more scope for feeble-minded plays, they could add any of my previous game-names, or for that matter, any word in any language which is not English. to sum it up in a word :
xeraphim.
how can a portuguese word for a coin once used in a tiny part of india be of any relevance to an English dictionary? because it scores quite a lot of points? is that really a good enough reason to embrace it?
and besides, any linguist knows that portuguese never uses the digraph ph.
i stumbled across this page which had me weeping silently for the desecration of English.

nobody ever wins on those things.
I'm afraid we cannot confirm that. The top score is proving rather challenging. Congratulations for VB.vaginalbob wrote:nice one dj - being the expert long-word builders, can you confirm or deny that 15+ letter words are allowed in the new game?davejon wrote:managed 'ruthlessnesses' 322 in the rocket!
