Are you having a go at me here? I reserve the right to complain when games go straight to spoiler mode. For the record I can win - have won plenty of fivers from Crossword Quiz but once you've got it once it turns into a very tedious game full of spoilers. Ditto for Trivial Pursuit. As for Gone in 60 Seconds - surely it would be impossible to ever win more than say two quid on the time given?
As for people comng on, boasting of their prowess on a particular game but then stating they won't share which game it is...words fail me! Is someone going to say that every issue now?

Answering all your own questions here.

1. Winning from two of the new games and then they stiffen up, do you really expect to empty the machine first pass?

2. Won in 60 Seconds, (don't be defeatist :) ) offers varying times. The generous ones mean you could win lots in you know all the answers- must admit I don't, yet.

3. 1&2 mean there isn't much sleuthing left to do to work out what the boasters are actually playing!! :D

Money goes in, and don't doubt, it does come out.

I only complain about soap related questions based on The Osmonds, or Osmans or whatever.

I'm going to ask my girlfriend the question now(!)...

She said no, she didn't know either - shocking. I thought she knew her Eastenders actually coming from Walthamstow as well. Double shocking.

Just for the vinyl, I'm not a 'player' of quiz machines, more a player. In fact I'm the player you guys like as I usually lose a couple of quid here and there. If I'm doing the rounds, bought a pint and the machines (spinning fruit variety) are obviously burnt, rather than sinking the pint in one, losing it or supping it whilst ploughing £10000000s into a dead Red, Fred, I'll pop a quid or two in the Itbox. My general knowledge is worst described as average and properly described as averagely bad. I'll get the easy peasy, what is your name? type questions, but then lose on the Sue Osman questions. If I get past the Sue Osman questions I'll lose on the spoiler 'how many hairs on Sue Osman's head?' type questions. Either way, the only way I'm getting a fiver is if the game has no questions. It's a quiz machine for gawd's sake, so there are no games with no questions. Even Deal or no Deal no questions actually has one question in its memory banks. Deal or no Deal?
I've learned the question though. I've stored it in my phone. The answer is yes.

maybe. but the last bastion of the S in SWP has gone with WU/WUGM/WS.
(0 / 7 i've seen.)

K(nowlegde)WP maybe. but it has nothing to do with skill of any description.
is skill a viable factor any more? there is always a spoiler on the horizon if it doesn't want you to win. so the S is negated. QED. if anyone cares to argue please start a new thread and i will explain why you are wrong. (this should be at the end)

maybe the capacity for learning an immense volume of irrelevant (uninteresting) facts is a talent of sorts but it hardly conforms to any dictionary definition of "skill. even SOWPODS  .

without learning the spoilers, nobody can win. it has become a very obvious time game where intelligent/erudite people can only hope to get they're/there/their money back. Yes there are free wins on the new TP for example and CQ if you can be bothered.
Pity that LL/titbox didn't realiZe it.
RIP WU, you were a very honest game to those with the skill/inclination
i have always rather hated pubs with itbox.
and this is as good a reason as we have had to knock these bastards on the head.

If i could be bothered i could probably pay for my drinks with SWP earnings but i'm not sure i can (be bothered) anymore.

i will still play WU for amusement; i can afford to punt 50p for 180 seconds of enjoyment. pity that it is not on the "MARKET LEADER"
nobody ever wins on those things.

Keep looking. You will find Word Soup, (it's there), and your depression will lift, life will regain its meaning!
Alternatively end it all.

Is Word Soup the Manager's Choice or something? I've not seen it on any of the machines I've played which seems odd compared to properpro etc.'s insistence that it's there.

(Sigh) it is still there. Top middle square on the back screen. Stop looking at the same 100 square yards around Leics Square.

I saw 11 Word Soups yesterday on issue 54, although I do agree I also saw 12 54's that haven't got it, so I'll agree it's sporadic.

But if it is going don't be downhearted UKP - every cloud has a silver lining.....

I fucking hated it.

Fair point! Although having a job in central London tends to mean that's where my attention has to focus, which is a shame. I hated the game too, but am glad for our resident Word So(up) obsessives that it's still to be found occasionally.

First he's moaning that it's gone altogether and now he's moaning that it's soup! What do you want -- jam on it?

Which would be above my two money makers. It was on the back screen on 53s anyway.

It's not in Leicester Sq Spoons I'll give you that

It's not in Whitehall spoons...

It's not in Tottenham Court Rd Spoons...

But it's not in Finchley Rd Spoons....

Or in Anniesland, Glasgow spoons....

nor is it in any of the 3 in Sauchiehall St, Glasgow, Spoons....

nor on either of the 2 in Sauchiehall St, Yates...

or on the 2 of the 3 I looked at in Spoons, (George Street?) Glasgow.

It's been on none of the 16 or more 54s I've now looked at, in a radius (OK diameter) of 500 miles.

But it's there. I'm sure.
