Just a quick link for any words fans. Pleased to see what jostles to be my favourite lexical item making an appearance on the very first line.

The first paragraph contains a link to Mr Shea's epic undertaking (one way, it seems, to forget the word for that 'cold white stuff' from mammals' mammaries).

I didn't know about the Collins policy of dropping démodé vocab (I think 'twat's still in there though). I suppose obsessive completists can rest easy with the OED.

I've now eked my PB up to 2131 on a Z-friendly board in Finsbury Park. Longest word I managed was only eight letters long, interestingly/pathetically/utterly uninterestingly enough.

Also continued my medical specialism with INFARCTION in a subsequent game.

i was eyeballing this in the pub and noticed that each time you make a word, a pleasing little +xx points graphic pops up and floats upwards. it was mesmeric.

UNCONTANIMATED.
not heroic but it ticks a box. no vulgar Qs or Zs in the way.

i was thinking about this: what is the best letter in English?
the conclusion i came to was N. not EN but the n sound with the tongue behind the top teeth before an explosion of something wonderful like NAPKIN or NITWIT or NUTMEG.

A bird's voice box (also part of a song title on Rush's 2112 album if my memory is correct).

Continuing the medical theme of a few posts back, XYSTER and (amusingly) PARAPHIMOSIS.

Was quite surprised to find that CARJACKINGS was accepted.
