Not for a moment suggesting you're not a pro or anything (PCQ exploits would suggest otherwise), but QUIZINVADERS is perhaps not the word I am looking for.
I was honestly going to write Quizvaders-it just didn't seem right somehow! Still, not a bad game nonetheless-you don't get anything these days with the same well thought out sense of progression both in terms of questions and gameplay.God forbid that a losing 50p might actually take a wee while!(whilst similtaneously building up the sense of acheivement of the player and thus encouraging future play).
QUIZVADERS sounds plausible to me. Having played so many different games over the years, the names tend to merge into one but I can always recall them when I see a picture of the game concerned. Let's see if anyone can conjure one up from the magic of T'Internet!
Yonks old. It was similar to a previous game called Concentration by Maygay. You answered questions to get to a second game where you had to remember cards in an ascending order (2's first, then 3's etc). Luvvly game. Never saw many, but those that I did were quickly relieved of their monetary burden.
Stupid punters. Telly all the week, screw the wife Saturday
Thanks.
Remember playing concentration many a time.
Decided to concentrate on writing the cards down than trying to remember them-with winning results!
Incidentally did you ever play Quintoon-nerve-wracking but once again via the pen a fairly solid £15/£20/£40.
My favourites were the old Maygay classics: Guinness Book of Records; Super Clue; Risk; Aladdin's Cave etc. All offered good players chances at the £20 jackpot and some of the machines (Super Clue for example) were generally so badly played that a virgin machine would often offer up £30-£40 in a single session. I also like the old JPM Monopoly. And The Phrase That Pays. Again, good chances of decent prizes.
More recently I think both The Weakest Link and WWTBAM have been worth playing.
