Have done nothing too spectacular on WU lately, although my best so far on the Soup variety is 1984 at the Famous Cock in Islington. Also made EXULTATIONS, which felt like it should have been worth more. Here's a nice poser for those who are sad enough to like this sort of thing: can you name a nine letter word that, when played in Word Up, would only contain two letters scoring less than three points? Six minutes of intense thought has helped me come up with a massive one example.

For non Word Upsters, will you give us a list of letters scoring three points or more or would it make it too easy?

It's exactly the same as Scrabble Grecian, with the curious change of having an 'L' as worth five points.

I thought L's were worth 3?

And U's are worth 2 in Scrabble and 3 in WU ?

Best I can think of is UNHAPPILY, which has 3 letters of 2 points or under.

...which tells you everything you need to know about how much attention I pay to the letters. Or maybe my eyesight is just rubbish. Either way, let it be said that I hadn't realised an 'I' was worth three points to my eternal shame. Otherwise the question stands. I like KILLIFISH – anyone know if COLLYWOBBLY would be allowed for an eleven letter instance of only two low-scoring letters?

Yep, HILLBILLY would be excellent. Certainly puts HOLLYHOCK in the shade, which was the one I'd thought of.
