Who writes these questions anyway?

Post by ZAX »

Am curious if anyone knows of or has met anybody who actually writes the questions for the games. Some of the wrong answers look like the diseased products of people slaving away in a room who never see the light of day, but Ive also noticed that a fair few of the questions are definitely shared across the games ie the options for answering are identical. This suggests the games share them from some giant database maybe sold to the companies who design em.

And what are the hours? And whats the money like? And is there a lot of burn out etc etc

Anyone know?

questions come from a variety of sources.
bought in bulk from outside companies
taken in bulk from the developers own data base
written by the various members of the design team to meet specific formats.

I don't think many companies have a specific question writer but some members of the teams may provide more than others.

More evidence that industrywatch is alive and well on this site.....

Playing Every Loser Wins last night and was asked the following:

Q: What does the latin phrase, 'Nil Satis Nisi Optimum' mean?
A/ A quizzer of great knowledge
B/ Nothing but the best is good enough
C/ A pseudonym of unknown origin

Took great delight in pressing 'A quizzer of great knowledge' as the wrong (and therefore right answer)

Arf arf.

Woo hoo! Recognition at last. Isn't it typical of the bastards though? - wait until I have just about retired due to the way they have completely ruined my favourite pastime and then stick some gratuitous insult into one of their myriad of poxy games. Can I suggest a question for your next Every Loser Wins question set, boys?

Q. When will the next worthwhile quiz game be released?

A. Next week
B. Next year
C. Never

See - writing this stuff is easy!
