You say this guy knows when to stop, but obviously he only stops when he can no longer win. Theres knowing when to stop and having too.He stops when it puts the £2 at the top.
For instance lets say you could walk into a bookies and place a bet and if that bet loses you get your money back or if it wins you win a nice sum of money, lets say £100. (no comments please)
Would your boy persist in doing it over and over again in the same place until the bookmaker became suspicious? Or move on to the next one down the road?
Well as hes playing PLD to £2 top prize he has absolutely destroyed the defence, ie + difficulty as its gone SO far under % it has to resort to its backup defence. Playing to £2 top prize means taking £30+ from a fresh, game which has had no wins taken from. These games start with value in them, but taking them that far is just greed. And as a quizzer you will be aware that that will cause alarm bells in the manufacturers quarter and rightly so.
Im not trying to have a go but your boy is clearly taking the piss on the game, golden egg and that. Take £20 max.

I've got to say that this game HAS to be the easiest skill based earner on a quiz yet.
It's easier than Bullseye, Casino Royale, Cash Stacka and a couple of others.
I just take two jackpots out then leave it for the next unit.
I won't return to one I've hit before for about a month just so it can take some money. By leaving them dead (£2 for the final), all you're doing is making sure the general punter won't play them, which is not very intelligent, is it?
I was in London a few days ago and saw two other people playing for their wages on these, one of them was quite good at it but the otherone should've stayed at home.
Plenty to go round though I'll only play these by myself.

He doesn't destroy them to this point. He just plays for £20 then stops. Trouble is, if one of you lot has already taken the 1st £20, there's not a lot he can do is there? Let's face it, it's not as if there's only 1 player around who can take the £10 out of this. It's all very well thinking you can take £20 and then not come back for a couple of months, but do you really think somebody better is not going to come along in the meantime? Bit naive, that. The £2 top win is obviously a protection mechanism put in as a measure against boxes being emptied, which clearly, most of you would have done by now given half the chance.darren wrote:You say this guy knows when to stop, but obviously he only stops when he can no longer win. As I've said before however, this is quickly becoming a moot point.

Cheers for the heads up lads. New version of darts will be out soon to limit the Been-Grant-Mitchell'd and QM's of this world.
Edit: BTW - this was meant as a joke! If people can win out of skill games, then thats because they are skillful enough, and we encourage that! Its only when they empty them that we would ever look at change things.. Sorry BGM and QM for mentioning you two specifically!

fair enough... but I suspect most of the criticism came x months/years ago when the lineup was shit and the errors were countlessHouston wrote:I think Games Warehouse have brought a new and refreshing change to SWPs. I'll declare the interest that I've been invited up to GW towers a couple of times to look over new product, but I would agree that GW have been leading the field of the manufacturers through what has otherwise been a pretty learn period over the past 12-18 months. There have been a number of pretty strong titles emerging from the GW stable - I'm thinking By Any Means, Match Of The Day, Revenge of the Daleks, etc. - at a time when the cabinet line-ups / product being turned out by itBox / GamesNet / Ind:e has, to put it bluntly, been lamentable. It's also an advance that, in the person of Dr Paragon, they now have some open visibility on here (and on Facebook too) - it just makes it a bit easier for people to target comments they might have. But all in all, whilst they've absolutely no cause for complacency, I think they've trod a good balance between appealing to Joe Public and appealing to players like us, and commend them for that. I hope that some of the other manufacturers can raise their games accordingly.Houston wrote:I think Games Warehouse have brought a new and refreshing change to SWPs. I've never been, in all the years we've both been on here, entirely sure which games you actually play. Everyone knows I'm a Pub Quiz player, so I don't really have a preference for any box, since it is on them all. I have to say though that unless you are too, I can't work out what you would play if not Paragons.cool wrote:pretty strong titles emerging from the GW stable - I'm thinking By Any Means, Match Of The Day, Revenge of the Daleks, etc.
revenge of the daleks do you mean in playerbility or jackpot potential?
come on its shit!!
the other two not by any means brilliant but acceptable
Prize potential mainly Cool, although I think it's fairly playable (not as much as BAM though).cool wrote:pretty strong titles emerging from the GW stable - I'm thinking By Any Means, Match Of The Day, Revenge of the Daleks, etc.
