Score spotted today of 2154 attributed to "beryl". Not a name I have seen about previously I think. is this someones pseudonym?

Dont recall seeing that word but could have been you as there were a whole bunch of modest scores :P that were attributed to a name that could be linked to your true identity.

It is around the corner from a place where another forum member has spotted an entry "Northern M luv EFC" or some such- is that down to you then?

NM, how did you know that i am really friderika bayer?
but i'm not guilty on the cocks and throbbers name. blame that on NS ;)

in other news, i hit IMPRESSIONISTICALLY earlier today so it is 19 to beat now. interestingly (especially for QM) that ties on 855 with VB's QUIZZIFICATIONS, but i win with +4 goal difference.

QM is quite right ;) i'm well aware that being good at word games does not make me a particularly valued member of society. but sod it, it gives my own dreary existence an occasional flag day.

i don't play for ages waiting for any given word to be on, i prefer to react to what the grid shows rather than have a preconceived plan. it soon becomes a boring game if you just pair Qs and Zs for big scores.

you probably won't believe it but i was more pleased with SCATTERGUNS yesterday.

i saw a BERYL yesterday and it is not me. very impressive scoring but seems bizarrely selective, he/she/it had been to one pub in the locality and played one game of WS (or only one signed as BERYL). scored with a QZZ word and 21xx.
possibly a traveller from a distant realm (unlikely given that it only appeared in one pub), possibly a talented local (unlikely given that said pub is a grotty student haunt), possibly a new pseudonym for an established top player, possibly a specialist in other games who dabbles (unlikely given that the box's quiz games were largely harvestable).
quite mysterious.

Was bored and trawling through old threads for inspiration when I noticed this user had posted in an old Quizzer thread: Beryl The Peril.

Not visited here since 07 though...
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
