Premiership Manager Football Quiz

Post by QuizMaster »

Anybody seen this yet? Came across one the other day. Better than Mike Read's Football Quiz I have to say. Not sure about some of the questions though.

Played it last week-it's actually not too bad with an unusual format.
The q's are pretty obscure, luckily i was with a keen student of scottish 2nd division football and even he had to have a good think about most of the answers and he was at the games!
Imagine how we struggled with english lower leagues!
Also how anybody is going to win any decent money i have no idea-oh hold on that's what virtually everything's like these days, how naive of me.

I saw (and played) a Mike Read Football Quiz on one of the large oval Gamesnets today. Is that the one you mean? If so, I'd have to say it was extremely similar to the dreadful Pop Quiz in looks and gameplay, with the same faults re the lack of information provided, the difficulty in winning anything and the general drabness of the game.

The only differences (other than the questions obviously!) seem to be that

(i) a penalty shootout appears after 3 rounds, which is an extra hurdle you have to get past as you need to get 2 out of 3 shots in the goal to proceed. Given that I had got all 15 questions correct up to that point and was still only 180 points on the way to the 300 points needed to get a whole £1, I was a bit annoyed to say the least at the random way the actual shots seemed to relate to how I set them up, meaning I missed two and it was Game Over (although granted that would no doubt improve with practice)

(ii) completely gratuitous semi-clad young ladies have been added to the graphics (not actually a problem this one!)

I hate to sound like a broken record but it looks to me to be another turkey, but hopefully given its obvious tie-in to the World Cup it will be similarly short-lived. Bah humbug!

Incredibly Mr.Satis there is another football game in addition to that hipster Reid's effort.
It's also better which is naturally saying almost nothing in its favour.
How much do you think Reid got paid?
I reckon about 50 quid and maybe just to stand beside the models for the follow-up.
Unless they actually got him to program the thing in which case he's well due another tenner or so on top of his celebrity! fee.

Thanks foxy, I'll keep an eye out for that one although given the rotten standard of most new games you'll forgive me if it's not with bated breath!

I played this for the first time the other day. It's a scam, when it wants you to miss 2 out of 3 it will force you to. There's no skill in it whatsoever, it's the most blatant spoiler I've ever seen on any game.
