Poker debate on the way home last night, I as usual say that poker is all luck which he denies heartfully...

Fact is, its all luck........ We all know how to play poker, the fact is the 'best' players are the most lucky.. Simply because millions of people play poker and how many would say 'If he never caught one of his 4 outs id be..................'

All luck in my opinion

Just been in a pub tournement tonight, played perfect, and i was on the verge of winning when my opponent hit a 3 (which was his only out) to beat me...... I used my 'skills to the max there' and he hit one of 45 or so cards to beat me..... sick.

Isn't Phil Ivey great!! He will of won a lot of coin flip scenarios to make it where he is now.......

take it on the chin, next time you play him the %ages will favour you. and the time after that. but sometimes the other guy will hit his out. TH'E is not a game of skill once cards have been shown.

I have to disagree that it's 100% luck. It's a very cruel game, full of misinforming feedback but there's definitely a sizeable skill element. As a Capricorn I'm a strong believer in luck and we tend to believe fabrications such as variations in beliefs dependant on astrological factors. However, I think we had this discussion somewhere else recently, can some people go through life with much better than average luck?

Actually feck all that logic and shit. Played out a 3 player Monop today. Number 1 there after £60, gave me one Dennis £10 with the fifty family in play. Then disappeared for £40! Yes £40! Yes £40 that's not £40 factorial, although it felt like it. So what? I had two sets of ahem, heads. Nope. Piff all, probably one fiver. Spungly wungly gungy yukky, shitey £55 rundown for a 1'er in. So moody but moving onto number two. £120 to be there and at least £7 milllion pounds off any type of useful thing. Rolls, holds, repeats forget it, not there. Disaster! Then they were doing some stupid, have a credit in your machine, your machine might be picked. So someone who had just finished there free bingo stuffed in 30p and got picked. £25 of free credit. Not a bananas, all laughing and giggling amongst themselves, £25 in, thought these have been played out by a fruitdozer, they may bag a couple of fivers that's it. NO!
Involved for best part of £250 in a shitty 'nop with a bunch of bingo people cackling away and yep. Luck as you'd fucking well know it. AS YOU WOULD f'ing well know it, although I'd have tried a set, not got it and moved on judging by moodiness of 1+2, so I guess I in reality didn't miss out, but talk about picking the wrong game. They play about £12 on 30p and get f all, then onto 50p stake and HEY look at this, doesn't take long for two nudges onto Monop.
£5 up top.....then losing spin, ah a premature £!0 maybe? NOW'S YER CHANCE! Mystery up to £9, yeah here we go, £10, mystery up to £24........£29........mystery mystery schmystery £35.

BREAKER!!!!!!!!!!!

IN FECKIN CREDIBULOUSCIOUS.

Just INCREDIBLE

Heads, HEADS.... HEADS

On the bonus reel.

Credit. Multiple mysteries. CONTINUAL GIGGLING whilst it was going up to £105.....CONTINUAL GIGGLING...................I don't know why, this game can be such a pisser at times, 2'er up and big involvement in the game of doom with ten million bingo people cackling there heads off at a £105 repeat pot.....except it wasn't.......CREDIT.......

Would you believe me if I said HEADS?

I wouldn't believe me, but that is what the feckin' fecker did. Heads.

Do I need to say it took a credit.
£mystery £141.

Must be the end. £143....ah yeah, finishing up now.

£145. yeah that's it.

£150 (fiver)....mysery here we go £151 feck off.........

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo what the hell suddenly decides to whizz, WHIZZ up to £163......then £170..........

autoplay.......never played a machine before in their lives, asking me what three men gives you..............£5, £5, £1, £1 £181 repeat pot I thank you.

Then in remaining £10 or so, nudge + hold for fiver then WHISTLE four off for an extra £35 machine emptied.

Had to listen to them whilst they were waiting for a fill up. Unbelievable, then I got hold heads and they said I was doing well.

As the late great Mike Reid would say.....WALLLOP!

So on that basis mjd I totally agree with you. Some people are lucky c*nts and some people couldn't win a game of bingo if they were the only person in the room (that's because it's a link up game and someone from Bolton has just scooped the link up £10,000 top prize).

Anyway, sometimes you feel like all the zen, all the mojo, all the flava, all the everything has deserted you. Started off so sweet, lol.
I played a machine that someone somewhere programmed. I think me playing it triggerred an invasion, it was really wierd within about thirty minutes everyone responsible for programming that machine started appearing. It was like some kind of Bell Fruit Crest 'PM Warehouse Gaming Empire stake out. Not only that but they started getting hold one for invincible and getting another cheap top on that game that everyone hates. They got terminated for £10 though.
I had ridden a BIG ideas Wheel for a £40 prize and tested my strength (very strong each time) a couple of times. Then I got slayed by centurion for a half 1'er. Yuk, 80% payout on 50p, naughty! After I failed to hear the programmer's words to press collect for match not start when the word match was showing in LED, d'oh.
I think it should be a compulsory feature on ALL machines that after playing them for 30 minutes or so, all the programmers should walk in the arcade/pub and be on hand to answer queries about super fast cash or such like.
Lost additional to Caeser's on %, but what can you do? The programmers probably have the exact stats and admitted themselves that it needed to be looser. Was tempted to force out the £70 for a £210 top, but decided to start losing on other things instead.

Still I managed to withdraw $100 from my poker account the other night, so there we go. I do get the feeling that life itself is rigged. Sitting pretty coining it in and then suddenly BOOOOOF! Oh no you don't you're due some real stinky bad luck.

It's the percentage of luck involved that keeps all the fish playing, so i wouldn't complain  .

I play poker about once a year - but magically managed to WIN from a field of about 70 people a VIP invitational tournament at my local casino.

The fact that I won that I put down to LUCK, not skill. So I do agree with those posters who say poker is a lot about Luck!

You wont catch cannonball in a casino, even if the drinks are free.
