Right let me explain how I used to play roulette and let me assure you I hardly every play it in the first place, ie. haven't played (truthfully) for months... All I do is bet on a few numbers and increase stakes until it hits.... it's similar to this martingale system - the chances are you will win on a specific session, but if you got very unlucky you'd do all your money....

Thankfully I never did all my money on such exploits but came close a few times that's for sure. Obviously I'm talking online here, the bookies are max £500 win and £100 stake so chasing money by increasing stakes is not feesible here.

One of the main things I wanted to make clear from my exploits, is that neither FOBT nor online roulette is rigged. People try and blame their losses on the gambles being rigged, when its just that they've hit a bad run.

Honest to god I'm bored with gambling (ie. casino games etc.) these days, never really get tempted anymore, but I can certainly understand the temptation for other people, used to be there myself..

Interesting thread this (great post JG, too - as always!).

I've 'never' played a FOBT / Roulette / On-liner / Off-liner 'casino-based' game, so can't really comment on anything.

But, I do have £25 free credits on Ladbrokes, and it's due a flash, so if anyone has £15 to hand and wants to buy it off me? ;)

I'm always amazed when people say that FOBT arnt rigged. 'They dont need to be' they say. Havent you heard of greed? It would be the simplest thing to do - one line of program code, impossible to find:

line number 45398 If stupidtwatinfrontofme bets >25 quid on red then result=black

line number 78234 if stupidtwatinfrontofme gets King and 10 and sticks, I get 4,Queen and 7.

The most I lost in one go was maxing out an 8K credit limit on a card. Took me 30 mins. You wouldn't believe how many times the banker got 21 when I had 20. And I went back again and again for more with the same result - was never in profit. Must have been the most unlucky bloke on the planet.......

Avoid like the ebola virus - almost wrecked my life. If you must gamble have a go at sports betting - real events that you can use your knowledge to sometimes gain an edge.

[quote="&quot"]Yeh been there, although I've managed to pull it back to a profit every time luckily, although I have nearly lost £10000 chasing before, this is why I stay off it these days (that time I ended up £1000 down and counted myself SUPER lucky). I have put voluntary casino bars on all online sites I would ever consider playing on, so never do these days (ie. havent played online for ages, and I doubt I ever will again). Ironically some people may say you'd have to be a real addict to bar yourself from casino game sites, but personally I'd say it takes a strong personality to recognise your weaknesses and personally stop the opportunity for you to be exploited!

I play a lot of poker on Will Hills - successfully $9.5k up so far this year.
I HAVE to disable casino / side game option - or the temptation can be too easy. Fully agree with OB as without a stupid Roulette / BJ drain i make more than enough money playing Poker / Machines

Well a lot of sense being written and questions too.

Just think about all the other things in the world that people think are wonderful and you don't get somehow. For me it is Football. Internationals yes, but I don't get the intense rivalry week in week out and the waste of time (in my humble opinion) that comes with following a team. Same as Eastenders,....

Maybe this is what I think, maybe not! The point is, that is the point, you can't look into some-ones head, you can only guess at what they think.

Think for yourself, do your own research and enjoy yourself without making yourself sick. Trouble is, once your on the roller coaster it takes a strong character to ask to get off,...

Now where is that beer?

By nature everything you do, from crossing the road to brushing your teeth is a gamble in some way.

It's the calculated risk in taking that gamble that separates the successful from the degenerate.
"If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"

I lost 8 k in one go on gold rally some years back and dabble with roulette in both Bookies and online. It's not rigged, I back set numbers , If they are due to drop they will, if not they won't , simple really . I have been 50 in for 1400 out but have done brains also. Have played 8 or 9 times in casino and never lost. Tend not to back same numbers on live tables but try to guess where the dealer is gonna land the ball!

I completely understand Why pro fruit players don't understand roulette or its appeal. They arnt gamblers and rarely risk money in a situation where they have no advantage . I have had varying degrees of fruit knowledge over the years , made some good money part time , always prone to blowout on the wheel or something though. Thats me and unlikely to change now. I have a good job with a good salary so all forms of gambling are strictly part time, having said that , day off today , and all this talk of roulette has given me an idea !

I noticed after brains, Maverick resorted to trayflop style posting only with full stops instead of commas.
