Roulette with odds in your favour!

Post by Mr Bubbles »

Got a email from Betfred along with all the normal gubbin's there was this on roulette.

29th Feb 2008 . For one day only all straight up Roulette bets on number 29 will payout 39:1.

Now would this be a viable idea? play all day backing only no 29 and odds/percentage wise you are on a winner.

But after seeing a roulette machine in a bookmakers say something like 600+ spins since the last zero I think anyone who tried it would be a brave indivdual!

£5 straight up, two spins per minute should , on average, give you £14400 staked and 77.83 (2 x 60 x 24/37) wins@ £200 = £15,567 return. You would need a bank of at least £2000 to compensate for a long losing streak.

£1167 profit expected over the day.

I wonder what the maximum bet is?

£50 => £11670 expected profit

£500 => a nice chunk of the mortgage paid off.

£5000 and never mind this time next year, it'll be this time tomorrow.

Basically they've somehow altered the RNG to miss 29 out. Rigged!

doubt it, but would take some serious balls to go for this one nonetheless!

Ah, so if I'm reading that correctly, it's a maximum of a £29 bonus. I see, that's a clever promotion. Yes, ok, so I'm better off not doing that on Friday in all honesty. The mortgage will have to wait a bit longer.

I got you, but I've got to phone the bleeders up everytime 29 comes in?

Bloomin' 'eck!

Anyway knowing my luck I'd end up losing with the odds in my favour. Unless of course they put you on hold for 23hrs, 59mins, 59secs on a premium rate phone line. Or it's just rigged. AHA! I'm so glad I just ironed my tin foil hat. Poker Pete's in the lounge playing Poker, so he can't hear me saying this.

Anyway I better go and sort this charger out rather than sitting here playing Streets of Fire, shatting chit and tasting whyme.

There are much better casino promotions out there than this one...

You could have a large expected loss with that promotion. If 29 doesn't come in for a while (which is of course highly possible) then you're sunk. And even when it does come in, it's only paying very slight ahead of normal odds (39:1 instead of 35:1 - so about 10% more).

The kelly criterion for bankroll management would suggest you'd need a bankroll of at least 250 times your bet to ride the storm. Be careful!
