FOBT - why its' not like _casino roulette

Post by stuart4010 »

1. On more than one occasion, i've watched some city gents pile their money in, and walk away a few hundred down, only for me to nip on and turn £20 into £100 or so. Whether I was just lucky or not, who knows.

2. The old debate of what is a random number. Someone, somewhere must have wrote the program for it, so it's not impossible that there are a few bugs in there, or combinations of numbers that are more frequent than others. However, as there is someone writing a program for it, then what is to stop them from slipping in some code to prevent a number being drawn when there's a large stake on it.

3. Previous posts from people who work in bookmakers have stated that the FOBT are generally 2-300% up on the day, so I find it hard to believe that it's as random as it claims to be.

What i'm trying to say is, don't play them. All bookmakers profits have shot up since their introduction, and of no doubt the number of addicts have too.

I've 2 questions: What is the largest stake you have had win on a single number? Is there legislation around, or indeed detailed rules of what a FOBT must and must not do in the eyes of the government??
My largest was £3 on a 9, also one £7 split on 9/12.

£2 on zero, worked for me! doubt i will be trying it again tohugh, was uber luckysville.

As for these machines, of course they are rigged!

If you covered 85% of the numbers one of the other lot will come in, happens so often....

Why so? Is it getting harder to win out of them?

I've only started playing these over the last month or so, and i have to admit i've lost more than i've won...

Those machines have bankrupted & ruined tens of thousands of peoples lives, therefore you never seen people all waiting to play them.

There a useless bet any, the most you can win is £486.00 and thats if one number comes in.

You always will lose more than you win on FOBT's, anyone who says different is a fool & a liar.

They are not random they are fixed peices of shit, that should be banned.

Correct Chris - agree totally. Ditto for the new Section 16s. I've done a post in VIP - hop eit stirs some interest.

ARE THE OPERATORS SO COWARDLY AND SPINELESS THAT THEY DARE NOT RUN A TRULY RANDOM GAME?

I'm about £2 up on FOBTs by the way ;)

I was playing on N&R yesterday in a bookies and this women had apparently already put £200 through it in the morning. Within about 40 minutes she had probably gone out to get more money about 4 different occasions and was about £300 to £350 down by the time i'd finished with it. Went on the one next to her. £5 in ... £21 out. Dont think she was best pleased.

What an uneducated set of replies. The reason they are not fixed is they don't have to be, because the 2.7% takeout erodes your stake over time. The longer you play the harder it is to break even or win. Then when you are chasing losses you increase your stake. The odds on your number not coming in for a hundred spins is what ?

a) 1 in 9
b) 1 in 900
c) 1 in 90000

I'll post answer soon.

Several times I have put £20 in and won £200, £300 or more. Then again I have lost £3500 in twenty minutes. I have seen a number repeat 4 times and 5 zeroes in nine spins. This isn't unusual or fixed over several thousand spins. Try reading up on statistics or probability before posting drivel on here.

ps The answer is a)

pps. I don't mind if you give me some stick over my losses. You can not win at roulette over time. Just add up all the numbers to find an apt nickname for the game.

Sorry Harry you got it all wrong. If we were talking about an actual real life roulette wheel then you'd be correct. But we are talking about computers and prorammes.

The machines are rigged, and pay out exactly when and how much they want to. They are not random. You can be lucky with your timing (ie ones about to pay out) but the numbers that hit are choosen by the computer, the 'ball' does not just luckily land on the number you've selected.

And do be a little more careful where you use words like 'uneducated' and 'drival', otherwise you can end up lookin a right tit when you get stuff wrong.

You are entitled to your opinions but how can a machine pay out say £80 if you are betting £13 straight up on numbers. The only payout possible is
£468.

I agree that there is no such thing as a random number generator though.

Engineer in Vegas proved it be winning the keno first spin for a few hundred thousand dollars.

I don't want to appear sanctimonious but

a) You do not begin a sentence with "And" &

b) You have spelt drivel incorrectly.

Not neccessarily - its possble to rig these through magnets placed in the bowl, Tripping the ball , increasing the size of or loosening the 'seperators'
