Was messing about on the casino games @ stan james, my balance is £840ish.
Started playing Blackjack (low stake). I bet £1 in a box and get J 6 dealer has a 6 on show so I try stand. I get an error message appear everytime I hit stand and I have to close the window.
I load it back up and I'm on the same hand with the fold or hit option. However the hand seems to still play itself and if I win the hand I gain £2 and if I lose my balance remains the same, so I can't lose!
I repeat this and get my balance upto £1280, decide to have a break and come back to it later milking what I can and then plan to chip dump it all on the poker so it can't be taken from me.
I go for tea (must have been 10 mins tops) come back to it and my balance now reads £0.00. I go to live chat for answers and they say my account is being investigated and my funds have been frozen! :x :( Would have been nice to have been informed once they took it!
I just wondered if they could take my original £840? Is it legal for them too? Obviously I know I won't receive any of what I made from the error now! Is there anything I can do and do I have any leg to stand on? It was there error so I haven't done much wrong.
The live chat guy said I would be emailed with an update shortly.
I've got a video of the error which I might upload later.

I'd be trawling their small print now.

You'd expect to get the 800 back though wouldn't you ?????


Maybe even a raise for bringing a flaw to their attention????

You should be given the full £1280 and if they refuse you will easily win the case if you take them to a small claims court. As you say yourself, it was their software failure and the money won is yours. If a machine spun you a one million pound win in and they tried to stop the payment of it because of a technical glitch in their software, they would lose the case in court everytime. Do not let them push you round here and let them say shit like "as a good will gesture", get the whole £1280 because they legally owe you every penny.

you will have already signed a waiver upon registration

they will be fully covered

they will replay your hands/bets to the point of the error, refund you this amount, possibly repay the original stake from the first errored game,

they'll then probably close your account.

But I have done nothing wrong? :? To be honest I don't care what happens if long as I get my £840!

Nevermind the £840, your balance should read £1280 once they have sorted it out.

I've had similar problems in the past, admittedly not with Stan James, but they have credited my account with my balance with what it was before the fuck up/error.

Reminds me of the day on Showboat(Quicksilver slots) online on Happy fruits,when it give me the £125 bells HAN,and proceeded to roll me in the keys for about £20.

After alot of emails with me arguing the bell win should have been paid?,they saw my point and removed the game and credited me the money less the feature.
Now I notice it has been put back on there so assume it must have been fixed or just not bothered with.

people saying you are entitled to the full amount are wrong.
Usually help screens somewhere will contain the very important statement "MALFUNCTION VOIDS GAME"
Don't see it on stan James games though.

They regulate through Gibraltar, so if you didn't get the original pre-fault balance back, that's where you'd complain.

Yes, but the burden of prove rests with them to show that the game malfunctioned, and that you were aware that the game malfunctioned, so it is far from straight forward if you play dumb to any error. These big companies want people to believe that they can do whatever they like and people don't have a leg to stand on, but that is far from the truth. Fruit Machines have a sign saying that any malfunction voids the game, but if you have a win in the bank and it malfunctions you are entitled to that money and you will usually get it without much argument because they know they would lose in a small claims court. You will get palmed off with anything if you take it lying down. Taking that money from him is no different than stealing it from his bank account, that money and balance now belongs to the player, and if the site wants it back they have to take him to court, otherwise they are acting in an illegal manner.

Stevie, accept that some people know more about it than you do.

Every transaction is recorded and a pre/post malfunction point can easily be found. What happened after the malfunction occured doesn't belong to bigv. The balance before it does.

The attempt to exploit the malfunction may not endear bigv to Stan James, but they're very unlikely to confiscate the £840.

I don't believe I know any more or any less than anyone else on this matter, I am simply expressing my personal view on it and unless you have had a similiar experience yourself, and ultimately lost the case in court, then you don't know either do you. The courts are always very harsh on these kind of companies because they know they can often operate in an underhanded fashion.
