4 Stages of gambling

Post by Alpine021 »

Had this a few times recently...

Stage 1) Machine playing well - just give it me quickly so I can move on...

Stage 2) OK you're being a cunt I'm £50 in just let me break even and we'll call it a day.

Stage 3) about £80 - £90 in - just give me the £70, I'll be about £20 down. Not happy but u move on...

Stage 4) Get a chair, (always a losing sign) fire notes in as u've run out of coins and just pray that u won't be over £60 down. Also at this point u have lost the will to live and are messing up simple skill bonuses because u don't care anymore....

completley agree, fucking annoying when ur on the same machine for over an 1hr. it's so boring and in the end u just want to move on. way i look at it is damage limitation if ur losing.

Like on my other thread i was on GG for over 2hrs and lets face it is such a boring mundan machine in the end i left £130 down. could'nt be arsed to chase for the streak.
How much profit will you make?!?!?!

However disciplined we are whn doing the day to day graft, I bet 99% of us get involved when copious anounts of alcohol/split up from girlfriend/someone pissed u off, causes you to lose your edge and chase shit/recycle shit/drawn in/drawn in etc.

Your frame of mind does, yes, go through these stages, and then,

theres stage 5, losing, kicking machine, no dollar left in wallet, no dollar left in bank
stage 6 - Optional, smash glass, tip machine over
stage 7 - lend money off friends (optional again..if possible)
stage 8 - see you in a dayweek, 2 week or month depending on nxt giro/pay day/emergency funds!

When I was a kid and I got burnt on something I would invariably go in to something I referred to as 'do your bollocks mode'

"Do you bollocks mode" is a classic.

Get stitched up on a couple of GGs / hi-techs which 'should have been good for profit' and you lose the will to live, next thing you know, you're 300 into a rainbow riches!

Been there...done that.

Exactly - it's like I'm not going to make a fucking penny yet I obviously can't leave it. for me it's when the notes comes out that I'm pissed off. I hate putting notes in but u turn around and look at a packed bar so no chance of getting change. Argh :x

LMAO the old "do your bollocks"
also known as the DYB club
we had this in an old arcade we all used to go in about 10 years ago i think the higest JP he had was £15s might of been some £25s and a m8 of mine paul done near £400 in a day on place your bets, fight night, casino 5 liner and i think a couple of others he looked at me with a face full of shame and said to me
"you might as well play this ive Done My Bollocks init, ive spunked £400 in here today"
to which i replied
"you must be the top member of the DYB club"
and then the DYB club was born
lmao i was 2nd as i done £250 in a day in there once back when i was so addicted i would not leave till they shut i even had £60 out of squids in once and then went on fight night put £70 init and got so fed up i just left it and went back on squids in coz i loved playing it even tho no one had been on it since i left it, worst bit was my other m8 changed up a 5er and jumped on fight night and got the barcode (which i had loads of times for £1.00- £3.00 of the mystery excange button) and what did he get ------ JP £15.00 then next baord went red and then got barcade again for £15 and red board for £15 again then barcode for £4 all off this £5 how much did he give me??????

£4 arrggghhhhhhhhhhh lol

i got my revenge tho in the end lol

he went on red alert £15jp and put about £20 in and he got £75 in the bank from firemans lift and a few IM boards so i said to him "gotta be worth goin for another board just to break the bank limit" he went for it changed up another £20 with no board then recycled the rest back in and went skint i know its not a nice thing to do but when your m8 who you help out all the time and hit them countless JPs and loads of info of what you have had out then when they take the piss and poach you and give you jack for it then to me they kinda deserve it to me,

I liked the way you used to 'test' the machines for pete if they had just been repaired or something, with his money.

As you put it, play it really badly and nudge stuff out and just turn everything down with the coins he gave you while he watches you play it, give him back the odd bits that you collected when you had to, then as soon as you give him his money back, 20 £1's please pete, jump on it, cain it, JP!

A pity he sussed that little trick out mate!

stage 4, eww. happens way too much. was on a lp dond for 3 hours i recon when it first came out (well the £70 jp's and it was a new machine in spoons to replace one of the £35's) before i got a gatw. was so tired and was losing concentration that i collected £70 instead of the MS. atleast i was actually in profit at the end. some cases have been much worse. come to think of it i was £100 down, had a gatw for a flat £70 on a double dond, and then £20 off the dond game and a few other bits. made me break even. the other cases just involve having to walk away. sad times.

Dom's got a good video named in honour of people (or should I say 'person') who collects the £70 instead of MS on an IM board :)
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Always the same - stage 1 - play for win / quick profit, stage 2 - play for JP, small profit / small loss, stage 3 - play for streak / small loss, stage 4 - play for streak / medium loss. The stage you are at always depends on your level of commitment / money in v best possible outcome.

I played bandits for 18 years and have exprerienced may stake and jackpot sizes. The same pattern will always be around on fruitys due to the gauranteed payout over time - as opposed to 'true' gambling ie roulette, horses - witch is totally different and 100 times more savage on the nerves. Maybe sec 16s can be compared - but not so the B3s as much.

What this post really needs is a JG contribution - extensively detailing each stage, colorfully over many paragraphs, with no grammatical errors (unlike thus)... I wait with bated breath!
you want the truth?? you cant handle the truth!
