Some idiot tried to have the ‘upper hand’ today in our place. He came into the centre at 12.10 and went straight to the change booth. He handed my wife (Marjorie) a ten pound note and was given the change in £coins. He then came back after about 30 seconds saying he had handed Marjorie a twenty pound note and had been short-changed.
Unfortunately for this fool, as we’d only just opened, we didn’t have any twenties on the change booth and so he had no argument. I showed him that we only had coins and his ten pound note behind the counter and he just crept away.
Be on your guard, I haven’t had this sort of thing for a long time, but maybe these crooks are going to try these old scams again.
The most fortunate thing about the situation is that Marjorie hadn’t had her usual morning joint and so she was completely with it, otherwise it may have been a different story.
