Hi, this is my first post here so hope all is in order. Although I've been playing machines on and off for 40 years I don't claim to have any tricks or special knowledge but enjoy playing and chatting etc.

Anyway, do many of you get to South Mimms services much? I popped in on my way to London yesterday and was lucky enough to win £250 on an S16 at £1 a go after about £30 in.
Went off to London and called in again on the way home and there was some serious S16 action going on. One guy was slinging £20s into a PacMan playing £5 per go but seemed to win in the end after going up to £10 per go. Another was siting on a bank of over £750.
Are Motorway services becoming the new casinos?

I called into Reading services on Monday - never seen such an array of broken and filthy machines. But the Shipleys in town which closed at 11pm was good for an evening out!

Called into South Mimms yesterday afternoon while the footie was on.Machines were obviously deserted.
Tried 20 in a Rainbow Riches, and a tenner in pacman at £2 a go.But both dead so quickly left.Reading your story I can see why!.Slotto was turned off and Elvis had dataport error.Machines seemed looked after for services though.

The dataport error 7.1 came up while I was playing Friday evening. First of all the machine came up with an "alarm" screen saying MPU5 error or something. I found a security guard who eventually reset it and after two more plays it did the dataport error.
It then took three resets to get the normal screen up so I took my £17 out and tried something else.
South Mimms is always clean and well-serviced. I play the S16s there as I know it's popular with "pros". Sometimes the Lo-Tecs are worth a go (like after a coach party has been in) but 70% payout is a bit scary.

South Mimms always seems to have a bad reputation.....i wouldn't even bother touching a fruity in a service station these days. I stopped in Grantham a couple of weeks back, machines there were all ok looks wise, but i didn't try any money in.
