The last thing you need...

...when you're £160 into a Gold Rush is a quiz. Yes folks (by folks i mean JG), it happened again today. Not quite the £300 job of last time, but as soon as i went over to put a score in the quiz machine it was in my head immediately.
GR was Down The Mine offering first board. I mean who wouldn't get stuck in there. You'd be hoping for £30-£40 up surely. Nope, my entire pocket of £88 coins went through. Then i tried a note...with the note changer sicking up anything that went in, i had to resort to using Can You Dig It next to it. £20 in, £2 played, £18 out. In it went, no pot. Another £20 goes in, got a £2.40 board this time. £21 out, all in GR with no luck. So i'm a good £130 in now. The CYDI was now not taking notes as i'd yoinked £40 out. Change up a score at the bar, in it goes, still no joy. Blindingly ready but no pot. ent to the bar again, and uh-oh. Can only do a tenner mate, we're running low. Deal or no deal. Had to deal here, no swap offered, and the £20 box had already gone. No repeat either, awh, how'd you feel? Anyway, threw £9 of that in and still no pot. There was only one option left. Have a quiz when i'm £160 down. Wouldn't recommend it really, your mind is so frazzled with GR annoyance you can't be arsed. Picked 2 games of £1 bully and killed them as quick as possible. Didn't care that they were 401 starts and prizeowrthy perhaps, i just want my £18 back. It coughed that up, and over i went. With the sole remaning £1 on the cab it finally went in for £35. I didn't need the quiz at all. Maybe my new phrase will be 'THE LAST THING YOU NEED WHEN YOU'RE £160 INTO A GOLD RUSH IS AN UNNECESSARY QUIZ.' Maybe not though, the old one was better. Anyway it soon went in for a second £35, and finally a third top of £105 soon after. £7 dynamite for afters. I'd got nearly all of my money back (which you'd expect from that ready to start with), but wasted an hour and a half of my life staring at that toothy bastard bearded wanker on the top glass. Not Edmonds this time, but that redneck goldrush hillbilly. Up yours your ginger fuckwit.
Hope you enjoyed that tale JG.

You sure you boys are making money at this lark !
Seems theres a lot of tales of loads going in only to just get money back or a short loss.
Then on the other hand there are the tales of people making 10's of thousands and yet live in a rented flat in chav town .
Strange........

I find it amazing that i can never get change from the bar when i'm short on coins, but you can be waiting for something and the muppet playing it will be able to get unlimited coins, i've usually got enough coins but when your having a bad time on something, the machine is'nt a notey or its red Xed you go to the bar for £20 coins and your told i can do you £5 in coins and £5 in 50p's and thats all we've got

Today I played a RoTJ in a new wetherspoons/lloyds bar just opened near me. 50 notes in, playing happy and I'm not too fussed. Note changer won't take any more notes - kind of half takes them and spits it out as if it's covered in lime juice. So, to the bar - 20 coins please ! No such luck - we've only got a small float blah blah.. so I hot foot it to the nearest change pub and come back and finish my business. Now I have a good 130 coins I want changed into notes. I have a family do to go to, and I figure the bar needs the coins if they can't change 20. Oh no.. "sorry sir, we have too many coins at the moment" at which point I went a little crazy and complained in a raised voice as to which it was "not enough coins to change a 20, or too many coins to change up my 130 ? *sigh*. Eventually they did change them.. but I had to really complain until the "manager" came out and authorised it.

I loved that story Matt, hopefully the quiz was near the machine otherwise you'd be fretting some muntling would run on and run off with the run.
£160 into a Gold Rushz and the last thing you need is Jim Bowen. "You can do it! (When you B+Q it)"
I don't play these much now, what's DOWN THE MINE is it EVIL STREAK? or HOT ROD or ABRACADABRA? or even SPIN TO WIN or OH MY GOD POCKET KINGS JUST LOST TO HARRYS ACES LADBROKES IS FIXED LOL (this feature normally pays 1st place - to H2).
Anyway I've got to cook a curry now, you won't realise this as this will be one big posting, the first of which was typed up whilst pokering, the second I'll come back and type some more about petera having digs at trayhop and some other stuff and people who wedge cluedos and people who don't like things and stuff and ok..l...see you soon
Ok, look it's late now, I listened to some tunes, watched a bit of a film where big tree trunks crash through people's windscreens and big trucks blow up and ladders fall into people's eyes and people's hands get stuck in sinks.
So. Just be nice and behave.

Pubs can be funny can't they? Just to add to BMs story.
Remember my Enigma Games Lucky Strike? What was it? Changed about £60 as I had no float, changed back £20 and kept £20 coins, guy behind bar goes 'f'ing hell, where am I going to put these?'
£20 of coins? Lol - in the till maybe.

Thankfully the unwanted quiz was indeed next to the offending Gold Rush. If anyone had gone within a cats whisker of that machine i'd have booted them into a wall. You ain't having £150 of streak for a quid!
