Last nights rounds/rant

Played a power 5 last night that obliged with a nice £105 im on my first feature entry...I got fairly excited when the pre cursor to this was a drop in of 3 melons on the diagonal which usually indicates something quite twilight zone-ish.
A Cluedo repeated beyond £35 for an extra £3.50 - don't remember ever stopping on a .50 before.(it rounded up of course)..Monopoly here and now's were stubborn mules..I'm considering only taking these on from certain points from now on..apart from the obvious dead stacks boards I don't think it's worth it if showing below red hi/lo anymore. Getting tired of the lose on the reverse and the normal if two hi's/lo's are showing if it doesn't want to give Strand and Deliver.
Still dabbling with Extreme Can you dig It's but only from full and positive signs. Even with this, the first JP invariably costs between £40-£60 then you are hoping for a repeat to make any money. Given up taking Big Money, the Jackpot is much more reliable for the full repeat value. Anybody had a £105 off this yet?
Vortex - dare I say that the hallowed turf this machine occupies for most doesn't do as much for me these days. Personally I find them very boring to play and so often cost too much to go in even if showing £8+ from early doors. Repeats are personally getting rarer for me and follow ons can be really annoying - £10 showing but still costing £35+ to go in again then dead. Might just be a sticky patch but I don't jump for joy at the sight of one anymore.

Monopolys won't lose if you set them right! I get tired of Vortex too most of the time, seems it has to be far too ready to make good on them a lot of the time compared with other reds.

I played one for the first time today, it was £16 off at 6.30pm in a busy Spoons, so I gave it a go.
Conclusion: Play it out until it forces the red £35 shot on you, when it was happy enough to do this I was approximately £55 in. I reckon this m/c was very happy from the off as it was pretty much letting me land wherever I wanted via True Skill bonuses, Selector, Skill Stop et al. I realised quite quickly that it's possible to get normal Big Money, or red Big Money - so I knocked back the first offering of Big Money (after £30 in) from the Skill Stop and just played for the 'Red Hot' squares and tried to get it red from nudges.
I never did get to see what red BM can do, as after £55 in, it forced the red £35 shot on me, and it was clearly going to repeat - and it did. The next board arrived quickly and immediately gave the £10 shot - that board died but the next gave the red £35 shot again (no repeat). So a staggered £105 in the end, costing approx. £61.
I guess it felt slightly like I was playing Jailbirds in that I was simply going through the motions board after board until it potted. Instead of measuring playability from the height of the cash stack upon feature entry, I guess I was looking more at how many of the lowest amounts it eliminated when I exchanged in - and the frequency of the True Skill bonus (it quickly became a true skill bonus almost every time I landed on it).
I reckon I was bloody lucky to find one in this state and to make a profit - it's not great entertainment but I reckon I'd play a full, non-refill one and hope to make a slow £20 profit.

hmm I'm not sure nixxy, jailbirds etc. and older extremes were literally 99%+ £70+ from stacking, yet this machine I've played twice and got £35 both times which has killed the machine for £50ish in from happy. I wonder how regularly the jackpot actually repeats...

From 6 forces:
Big money twice: flat £35's
JP red: 4 times, all repeated.
Small straw poll I know but I'm going to keep at it until I experience otherwise.

2 forces.
1 £60 odd in for a £70 big money
1 £30 in for a flat £35 then that back plus another £30 for a £70 big money.
I've not had red £35 as I've always been given the 5 diamonds which automatically collects.

Just on the Vortex front they have gone shite for me as well. They used to be my best machine I had a fair few times where I was like £70 up it was ridiculous but nowadays when full on a weekly refill and playing well it just seems to cost me about £45 for a flat £35 then dead.
And Vortexes in my experience don't respond that well to a re-force.
Even yesterday one was gambling past a fiver and spinning in big wins but didn't red for £60 then cost £85 for a £70 then dead so lost about £25.
Cheers, lol.

Heh - funnily, I'll agree on that Vortex front. Used to have one near me that'd be ready almost 90%+ of the time when I confronted it, and would often turn a good profit (£40/£50 up at least) from it. Now there's another one, but it plays like a stinker a lot of the time, blocking at SS for 10 or more times in a row before going up for a flat.

Another may soon follow, but by then, you're £70 in anyway...
One of my stalwart Invincibles has just disappeared to be replaced by a fantastically brilliant, top of the range...

By the sound of it, I think yesterday's experience ought to be my last on this machine.
If the £35 'normal' shot auto-collects (does it?) then it'd be very hard to get on top as presumably there'd be no repeat chance. Sounds to me like you can't fully control things even if you were to sack boards off by going lower than a 2 etc to buzz it up, it could still throw that £35 shot at you first go, and then your stuffed if you're £50 in.
I should just clarify that I'm only comparing it to Jailbirds in terms of 'work-rate', not profile!

Now if it replaced one of the never-ending stockpile of Hot Propertys, it wouldn't be such a bad thing. But to lose an Invincible like that is simply wrong!

It's fairly easy to hit a red hot square before going into the board. The red hot square always turns the £35 red first, It vary rarely reel spins numbers straight into the feature board so I think it's fairly safe to get the £35 red before playing a board. I noticed the other night that entering from the 2nd arrow also turned the 35 red upon board entry even if it wasn't red before. Not sure whether this happens every time or whether it's a sign of readiness..

Never seen a Cluedo literally stop on 50p. Should be guaranteed to carry on if its on 50p. I have had it go for an extra £3 before, hence a £38 mega streak. Thats the least I have ever seen it repeat for. Obviously its there for another after.
You shouldn't really be gambling for 3 highers or lowers from lines 2 below Strand and Deliver. Reverse gamble wins 95% of the time if you set it up correct.
Vortex is probably the best Red for me lately. I don't take a mega streak unless I know for certain its redding. That way, I never get £35 then dead.
Never actually played Extreme Can You Dig It.
