As an employee of Leisure Link part of the (not so) Inspired Gaming Group, im interested to see if any1 has heard nething more than what us 1100 members of overworked, under appreaciated, paid more than most but still crap pay, all about to be members of Gamestec or made redundant have heard regarding our future at the company.
What i know is on the 20th June 2008 there will be the strategic review announced where Luke Alverez and co will announce their plans to bleed us dry and make as much money as possible..... sorry i mean if we are to be sold or a total close down of pubs division.
Rumours so far are that gamestec are to buy us.... why? would they if they could get it all for free eg. sites, machines employees. It really is a shame if only we had company directors that had a clue what they were doing, then maybe we could of ruled the world (so to speak). Also instead of selling machines to companys and make a bit of money the best idea they could come up with is.....
1) Send machines to storage to rot and have bird crap gather on them at an old airbase (which they waste more money paying for the luxury)
2) Destroy perfectly good machine because they have 'no value' on the system
3)Destroy good (really good) pool tables so no-one else can have them (how spiteful)
4) Give themselves brand new Audi, BMW, Jaguars even Bentleys and a payrise for all the (non existant) work they do.
Im really pi**ed off i really enjoyed working here, now im upset. Can any1 tell me anymre to cheer me up :x

This wont cheer you up! They can cut your wages to the same as their own employees - unfair I know, but they are allowed to do it!

That is interesting because we have been assured that our terms and conditions would be carried over to whomever took us over, but at the same time it doesnt surprise me now im even more pi**ed :x

Has happened to my wife and a few other people I know, so I know it`s really true. It is really unfair but as I say, they are allowed, by law, to do it!

The story with my wife was that the pub which she was manager in has been leased out by the management company who were running it. Now the person who is leasing it has to employ the existing workers - but now there is no managers position for her as the lessee is doing that job. ie drop in position and wage.
Where my wife and the others are going to get revenge is by taking the management company to a tribunal under the TUPE rules. These state that your employer has to go thru a consultation process with the employees prior to the change of employer and they never done that!
By the way - Leisure Link pulled out of the pubs in my town about 6 weeks ago.

There are some very good machines out there but like i sey my company are spiteful and wouldnt allow it they would rather see em rot away. But they cant stop machines dissapearing like 'magic' can they? (scandalous)

To be honest Leisure Link deserve all the shit the can get (the top level, not the employees who are only doing their job). They are greedy, solely profit focused and don't give two shits about the players or punter that make them their profits.

For example...

Siting shit machines everywhere that take £10+ for boards, lowering percentages, taking away the +6% on 50p, and now the introduction of the £5 transfer. I mean i've seen Gamestec machines with the £5 transfer buttons which only move £2 over. Who wants to put in a fiver at once anyway? Ridiculous. Gamestec have their ear to the ground and have rightfully put it back to £2.

It's just like Quicksilver arcades. New Australian owners who decided that UK hi tecs had no place in their arcades and removed them all for random £35 aussie style pokies. Cue massive decrease in trade and company struggles. They just ain't got a clue.

I agree on the fact less PEOPLE will go into the arcades BUT...

Has their trade actually gone down though in profit terms...?!?!

The people arcades make money of are munters, not players, and munters like lotech crap, not hitechs.... Also with only lotechs in the arcade granny's won't be annoyed seeing the same old people win all the time on the hitechs whilst they always do their money... result, happier grannies :P

Makes sense to get all lo-techs in my opinion. If I owned an arcade it wouldnt have any hitechs, or if it did, it would be a shit bfm dond.

Well the one here got a lot of hi tec play when they were there. Surely keeping a small batch of them can't do any harm, especially seeing as the shite they've got in costing £12,000 a piece collects dust. Shocking.
