arcades on the news

Post by grandslam88 »

did anyone watch the news this lunch time ?

what i joke, a great yarmouth arcade manager was on tv claiming that his
arcade is struggling and operating at a loss beacuse of non s16 machines and how they are struggling without the £2 a spin.

the fact is that they have it so sweet for sosuch a long not offering the punter a game for their money and they are still complaing. even the new ones on £1 play just as worse.

my point is that what did they do before the s16 ? they managed somehow. and back in the days when it was £4.80 tokens they seemed to managed fine.

the operators have just got so greedy not offering value for money all the want is fast taking lo-techs .to be honest i hope people dont play the cat b5 machines so that they are taught a lesson. for too long they have been ripping people off. how many times have you put £100 ina s16 in less than 5 mins no features , no bonus etc..... im sure many of you have been there before.

as sure most of you will agree there are less hi tech in arcades now and more and mre lo techs which just suck your money very vry fast. this is why the industry is in a decline because who is willing to put £100 ina machine without a win ? that isdefo not AWP !!!. you might aswell go to a casino and play them there.

that arcade that was on the news i hope it serves you right.

75% of arcades will be shut within five years. Leisure seekers now have more options than previously. Whereas £10 would last all day a few years ago the average punter would be lucky to get an hours worth (of entertainment) in 2008.

Absolutely spot on is that Grandslam.

I use to cringe when I saw the note boxes being emptied on those S16's. Even now when on £1 a go and still VERY random  , so random in fact the board frequency and level of wins has not changed one bit has it?

Serves them right, been far to greedy and had it so good for far to long. Perhaps if they introduced a bit of customer care in such places people may return, I'm sick of being treated like a criminal EVERY time I walk into an arcade these days becuase I dont go straight to an S16 or whatever they are now and do my nuts.

Its pure greed thats put them where they are now and it serves them right.

It's a real rarity. One popped into a local Showboat and left as soon as it arrived (four weeks later to be exact). Ditto another small independent. I'm guessing Link are trying to push them in the odd arcade. They just wouldn't take what even a s34 AWP could take. They'd be the lowest earning machine in the shop. It's not hardcore enough for the clientel. In the pub, it's a bit of fun to stake a couple of quid on the chance of winning back....errrr....a couple of quid. Therefore it's worth having.
Pop in if it's on your route, but otherwise, not worth looking. Guessing by the Itbox that appeared near me, it seemed to be on an old issue and was slightly profitable. So for you guys, well worth a punt I should imagine. A few people played it for DOND and WORD UP.

It HAS GONE now though, so no WORD UP for you. Sorry.

Its hard to feel sorry for them and yes they are unhappy about sec 16 going but they have only had them for a couple of years ? How did they manage before ?
I would play £500 machines if they were fixed % payout not random . I hope the Uk does not go like the States and mostly Random machines . A punter has to have a chance of getting his money back and it very difficult if not impossible to gameplay on random machines. The acrcade owners and the Trade Body should should survey what punters want it may be in there best intrests.

The average High Street arcade offers a unique product and that is a compensated, value retaining gaming experience. If I want random, I'll play Blackjack/Roulette which offers better returns than the dubious B3 at £1/spin 90% payout.
