Well, I am full time and this may sound stupid but I could not imagine getting up for work anymore after doing this all me life.
Is there anyone else on here that feels like that or am I just being stupid.

I'll delete the other 2 posts you started
Without wanting to sound like someone's da, you might think that you could play forever and never have to work but that isn't very likely. Think of all the things that would mean you can't make money off traditional AWPs: Video AWPs, barrings, increasing fuel charges, arcades and pubs increasingly trading information on "players", AWPs disappearing from bookies and being replaced with no skill machines, FOBTs, bad luck, illness etc... ... in short, it might be good money and it might be fun making it, but make hay while the sun shines because you don't know what's going to be round the corner.

You wont be able to do it for the rest of your life, thats a fact. One more year for me and I'm done. Ok do it for as long as you are making decent money but you must save it also. When you get older more commitments you will have and then will be the time when your have to make a choice, just make sure its the right one.

For what it's worth, i'd rather have a job with a guaranteed income, and a pension scheme, holidays, sick pay etc etc than have to travel about playing machines all day, every day.

I uesd to get itchy feet whilst at work, call in sick and go out on machines and make more in an hour or two than I did grafting for 8 hours a day. But as Pierkid said, as you get older your commitments change along with your priorities in life.
What if in 5 years time your fruit machine utopia comes to an end, you have no qualifications or work experience. Whats on your CV - I knew all the tricks, rips and empties for fruities but not much else. I have a sneeky feelin most of your winnings go in FOBT's, which is a downward spiral at 19 years old.
Shame.

this is hardly the case you choose your own hours and go when you want.

You'll look back in 10-15 years time and think 'yeah baby, those were THE days'! :P
I know I do.

been playing for 10 years, and been full time for the last 3, like said above you can make £££'s in a few hours and you choose your own hours, but on the down side you can have shit days when nothing goes right and you make fuck all, I've been doing really well lately and am not even looking for work.

I was being bugged about getting a job while I was signing on by the job centre, family and friends (non players obv) I as always looking, but not v well, Id have probably taken the £100 an hour job working for microsoft or something, but that was never gonna pop up.
Then came the fateful day when I lost about £160 in an addams family, I turned the m/c off too many times in one go and it reset itself, I lost my £50 bank and the IM mode that kept returning (kept turning it on /off to get AFM ) Considering I was already down on the day it just put me in the wrong frame of mind, we're talknig about 3 hours on one machine only for you to screw yourself over.... ended up 300 down that day and it bothered me. I went into hiding for about a week! Then got a job thankfully!
Mind you since that, getting a job and all you find you really dont mind as much and your much more flexible when it comes to money, nt being bothered where the "spare quid" goes etc.
