at the moment I'm finding the following...
DOND (rubbish chipped etc. ones I mean) 30%
global/games media clones 40%
rubbish bfm or crest 20% ( road to riches, cash attack etc.etc.)
poor reds like snakes and ladders/SMTM 5%
anything remotely good ie. cluedo/on a roll/invincible/ccp etc.etc. 5%!!!!!
Times are hard...

Agreed ...
This is indeed a lean period. I still feel surrounded by DOND at the moment - I never thought they'd last this long. If the space they take up were filled with other, newer machines, we'd almost certainly all feel a lot happier.
I've just had two pretty decent machines (Jailbirds and YDD) replaced by Monopoly Hot Property which hasn't helped matters.
I'm almost wholly reliant on two pubs which don't refill and which are out of the way enough to not encounter too many players just to make profit; everywhere else I go is a real lottery and breaking even in some establishments feels like a real achievement.

Agreed! I'm chancing my arm with the following:
- 2x Gold Rush
- Warped
- Money Spider
- 2x Cabin Fevers
- JTRNR
- Tons of crappy DONDs - all varieties, including Dream Factory / Big Reds
Thankfully, as Peter Crouch would often say, I still also have the following:
2x Vortex
2x FNC
1x CCP (Waheey!)

Its been like that for months round here. Only got 1 of each of
Piggy Bank, D&N, Rovers and Rocket Money that are worth playing.
Lots of other machines getting changed but just Games Media for BFM/Barcrest or vice versa - All the DOND's just stay where they are :x

Found a Doctors & Nurses in a pub last week. went to it yesterday, saw the machine OUTSIDE. On closer inspection, it had been broke into. Probably beyond repair. Leisure company solution - Purchase a Jackpots that rock and roll probably, then got stuck in traffic for 2 hours looking for another one that at changed for a DOND BTB. Then in traffic for another one to find the electricity off in the establishment.

Unfortunately this could be the beginning of the end for the machine as we know it. Every manufacturer is starting to churn out generic shite because they know thats where the money is.
Take for instance my local, we've had Carribean Trash for over 4 months and counting, normally machines are change every 6-8 weeks. In the past we've had - Legal Tender, Rocket Money, Pay Cheque, YDD, JTRAR, Warped and DOND WiyB. I can see us having CC for another 4 months.

look, you get dead periods every so often so you have to just play a few things a day and mae a little profit then call it a day.
Or travel, but it will be back in full swing in a few weeks

If the locals don't play a machine, it soon gets re-sited.

So true OB. You don't fully apreciate the run you have until it turns as bad as things are at the minute. I've not seen a vortex for a month. the 2 Invincibles are very hit n miss. 1 On a Roll thats still good and a couple of Rovers/cluedos is pretty much it for me at the moment. Oh and a CCP thats a bit out of the way so only once a fortnight really. Thats all out of around 200 Machines that I can choose from. Winning £150 over the weekend felt like a massive achievement compared to what i've been getting these last few weeks.

The problem is Harry people do play it and constantly take crap wins, I even have pool team-mate who takes double shot when he has skill bonus and wondering why he dies so fast. He'll play at 50p spin, £5/6 per board and take £2.50 wins! I haven't touched it since the second week it came in.
Pure dirt. :x

Not the most inspiring machine. Agreed. It's a '£3' machine, so a lot of value gets hovered to %.
I knew one had got cycled to death and was £15 off when Mr. Boardman finally left it. You know the score. Reversi plops in before Simple Simon Says. Not quite sure of correct playing procedure here. Anyway it did the standard 2*flat MS bloopla. I'm sure there's a bit of Card Shark foodlery poodlery. Like, whip a doodle off the poodle, blap in a blooper and then floop the bloop until the poop to cane the value. Haven't worked it out full yet. May be a noodle, not a poodle. Y'know. Yeah so it gives the upstairs downstairs, then fruits before bonii and it's 2nd shot MS instead of a SSS. It was a £70 for a £30ish outlay. 'Owever. 'owever. THE AFTERPLAY ON THIS IS DISMAL. It's that bad it can STILL BE GIVING RED HOT PICKER, but playing cagey as a sage. You know the score. Anyway. Then Mr Happy Drunkard floats in and he's gambling off the crazy pays, doesn't want the bluey and he just walks. Got to play. Got to play.
Simon pops up after £20 boys, clacking after £15ish in, basically its been a straight floopla up to the brim for a clack down the back. Realised now as it did 2*flat it was due a blop and I should have fired Simon in to the MS and ripped it.
Muggins went for the sqooogly woogly board. Clacked another £60 down the back for flat and MYSTERIOUSLY a Mega AFTERWARDS that did £40?!? Money back MINUS the cost of visiting number 4 to see Simon. About £8. After play was £5 in £5 out. £4 in £4 out. Lose a gamble. Offer red hot picker. Kill before £4 on the middle as two red skulls. No chance of a blag. Lost almost a tenner, before I said this is going no where. My highest on fast cash is £8. No lovely £15/£20 blaps here I guess. Anyone blapped it?
So how to extract this value. The other rip is gone. I've got a couple of ideas, but I wouldn't play one especially or really play one at all. Unless I was doing balls on something else and saw what I saw there. Very, very, very average machine at best is CC.
Rarely enough free value to make up for % cost to get there in first place. You need cyclers to make it work it. Not seen a big fat 105'er yet either. Got two on £125 hoppers. Not emptied yet apparently. What a swizz! Is £50 the max?

Isn't it great when you go to an old hunting ground and find that virtually every machine has been changed
Pub 1
SMTM, Snakez & Ladderz, DOND ( win stopper) all at 72%.
Pub 2
DOND WoW, Snakez & Ladderz, Gold Rush, R2R.
Pub 3
DOND Hall of Fame, Gold Rush, Magic Money, Vortex.
Pub 4
CCP
Pub 5
Manic Muncher, DOND 4 reeler
Pub 6
OAR, DOND cybtb.
Pub 7
DOND WoW, Vortex, Cluedo.
Absolute shame I don't really like Reds and there is a DOND in every pub!!! I made a clear profit of £81 plus £20+ on bevvies, and even I know this - THE CCP WAS FLYING IN A POXY LITTLE PUB. Not bad for less than 3 hours work.

Yes but tbh, vortex/FNC/OAR/cleudo are very rare in comparsion to the DOND/gamesmedia etc., and getting MORE AND MORE rare - that's the point - the spells are going to be more and more shit.... I appreciate there is poor spells in general, but I just dont see why it is going to get any better given the new machines out there, which are all rubbish...
RED: snakes and ladders/SMTM - poor, and whilst Im on the topic uncommon compared to the following selection
CREST: cash attack + clones - poor
BFM: DOND etc. series - poor
MAZOOMA: road to riches clones etc. - poor (ok I concede here and now is obviously good but rare)
GAMES MEDIA: always has been juggling jps clones, always will be...
Can someone please tell me which company is bringing out playable machines at the moment (apart from here and now monop, which is rare), if this isn't the case, how do you expect things to change for the better, all we are going to see in 6+ months is a load of this new stuff - which is all crap
Perhaps I'm wrong though... hopefully....
