You know what I mean, you try a machine, particularly a Red, you don't get a board that tells you a sign (ie you don't get to test the £5 block, you get a board with mixed boxes) You lose a bit more, whats the cut off point?
I mean say your about £30 into a red to realise its not really ready enough for a chase, but your £30, are you really gonna be £30 down if you play it through?
Think the biggest knock I've taken is about £30 myself,
Also, how much do you go without a board on a red? I limit myself to £10, then any extra if theres a hold there next spin etc.
How much before you get the "may aswell chase it"
I think 20/25 in and I'll try and take a couple of quick 'toggles' or similar and leave (if it's blocking at £5 or below).
Any more in and I think I'd probably chase as, like you say, you're not going to lose much more than that even if somebody's been.

I know what you mean.....if you are that much in, you may as well chase most of the time as like you say you can sometimes spawn evens or even profit if it just readys up really quick. If it doesn't want to streak it'll just thrrow in a random top or pot when not red to level off. 30p OARs love doing this!

Yeah obviously mummies/zeros/pulsations even you have to take a knock, but a lot of the time Id would stake even less in them anyway, they' taint too great are they?
What about Panthers/cluedos?
Id say anything over £50 and Id play at least for the SSS and maybe the full KB if that cost a lot. Depends on how many wins I've taken b4 hand tbh.

Panthers etc can be a bit of a pig to force and you hardly ever make off them. Even when they are £8-£10 ready i've had it cost say £60 to get the NL, bit more for the second SSS and then you are evens. Ok you can sometimes blag lines after, but often its an evens or slightly down job!

I think it's pretty difficult to give an exact quantitive answer to this question, as so many things could affect your decision. I'd have to answer as follows:
A Red: I'd stop if my first board did me at the £5 mark or below. But generally the chase would be on if I got past there.
Other machines: If I was flush and the first board or so was giving me good signs, the chase would also be on*. CADDs at the moment are doing very well for me - almost regardless of state, IM usually comes before £30 in.
*This is dependant of the individual machine, of course - if I could snare any profit, be it a £1 more than I put in, I'd take it first board if it was a hideous machine. Then, you could argue - why play it in the first place? But you know how it is...

If its the first m/c of the day you're a little bit wary i.e you don't want to be chasing your money back from the off, but if you're £100 up you don't mind risking it a little bit. It all depends how comfortable you feel with the m/c, the place, past wins, backing etc.

I've played CADD quite a few times in my local Laddies (which has still got 2 AWPs which in itself is quite surprising). It nearly always gives a £50 tops for little effort, even when its not showing the normal signs. However, I've never seen the invincible on this.
