How much....

...d'ya reckon you have thrown in gamblers over the years ?

I have thrown tens of thou. in them. No lie. Have been playing them for 15 years or thereabouts now. Used to put nearly every penny I had in them. Put best part of student loans, overdrafts, student overdrafts, etc., in them, too. I remember going to places on the bus to gamble and having enough money to get home again on me. What would I do ? Gamble the very last bit of it and then try and discover a way of getting home. It is criminal, but it is part and parcel of gambling at the end of the day.

I can honestly say I have put tens of thousands in the things, though. What about yerselves...?

:)

Welcome!

It's nice to have a refreshingly honest posting about big losses.

I get sick to the back teeth of reading "Walked into a pub - put 10p into the Red Gaming and got number runner on a 1 for a 105 top. Put in another 10p and the same thing happenned again!!"

I've lost a fair few thousand over the years. Had a nice run when PCB/Frenzy/NT/Sheik your money were around but my problem used to be that i'd play anything. Slowly winning my money back over the last few months.

I've also spent far too much. I have now stopped for a while as I need to get myself together. Can't be wasting my time with machines so have decided to knock it on the head for a bit to save some money. Thinking of going to NZ next year for a month so gonna save for that. I took home 33k last year and a lot of that went on gambling so its time to see some of that myself

Its like a breath of fresh air to read about somebody losing in the long run, therefore I commend you on your honesty but I also despair for your addiction.

I've been a player for around 9 years and if I had the accounts for these times I would more than likely be down £2-3k, which aint bad going considering I've never had a 'proper' emptier or any help, but on the flipside if I added up my Hellraiser/clones winnings I'm pretty disappointed.

Look on the brightside Bertster you've probably had fun and some great days, I have, and losing tens of thousands on m/c's has gotta be better than putting it up your nose or worse still, in your arms.

A "player" should only play machines where there is much more chance of coming away with profit than loss, or no when to play/leave a machine.

If you want a decent read on fruit machine losses and how it effects people i strongly suggest you all read this thread in it's entirety.

It's sobering stuff, and one of the best reads on the internet.

Haven't got time to read all that because I'm off out, but the first page is interesting and I will later.

I've decided to knock it on the head as of earlier today. I've just moved to Uni, and although my Mum & Dad are both skint, and work really hard, they've decided that they'll give £500 each to me and my brother to help us through Uni (i.e. 500 off my mum for me and 500 off my dad, so £1000 each). They're paying it into my bank every fortnight - its only £25 a week but it'll help as a skint student.

I was in my new town today and withdrew £80. I spent about £30 on some essentials, then decided to nip in Spoons for a pint. I saw the machines (R2R & OTB) and there were empty glasses next to them - they had obviously just been done. But being the fool I am, I decided to try a few quid. 30 mins later, my remaining £50 had gone.

I was then walking home and got a text off my mum; 'Just transferred £50 into your account to help in your first couple of weeks'. I felt sick to my stomach - £50 which my mum can barely afford and had worked so hard for, and I had effectively just pissed it away on some stupid machine in less than half an hour. That gets to me so much and I can't be doing it any more.

I've blown a good couple of thousand I would reckon, which is nothing to be proud of as an 18 year old. It's affected me, undoubtedly, beyond just financial difficulties.

I'm a student now, so even the odd few quid here and there will add up and is important. Time for me to knock it on the head at whatever cost.

Thinking of cutting down playing myself atm due to heavy losses recently

Overall, i'd say i've lost thousands (no idea how many, guessing no more than 15 thousand max) from feeding machines over the years,

I would be surprised if there are more than around 20 people on forum who are "up" overall for gambling on the fruities, and i salute anyone who has managed overall profit.

you cant lose on them if you are a decent player, you stick to rules
1.dont play pieces of shit
2,dont force out dead machines
and you will always be in profit if you play enough machines.

i am up tens and tens and tens of thousands over the years like a few other good players on this site.

you stick to what you know

What these so called 'pros' forget to mention is that most of their winnings is w*nked away on roulettes and casinos.
