Is there a machine manufactuer called....

Post by Bertster_ADS »

...Global Media or Games Media ?

I played one of their machines last week and would like to know info about it.

I got on the board and all the features / top of the board / everything went red, although it chinned me fairly soon after. Couldn't believe it !!

It has (I think) a 1-7 number to get on the feature with 4 as the bonus. It then goes into a turbo gamble situation when you're at the £1 stage and can be taken off if unsuccessful with the gamble. Each time you win on the turbo gamble before exchanging for feature it eliminates the lesser features & money from the knockout boxes of cash and features. It can also add onto the 1, 2, 3 numbers which determine which grid you go into; the grids work their way into the middle and there are arrows letting you into and out of the inner and outer grids / sections. The turbo gamble can also light up in red the top features at the top of the board, as well as the 3 hearts which when lit qualify you getting an extra life, which I hasten to add, you always get robbed off you again with a question mark. The machine is really bad for that.

The machine has 3 options; 10p, 30p or 50p a go. There are no nudge options, I do not think.

It gave me a few £5 cash knockouts when I had the shots, but it had a terrible habit of giving me a cash win when I hit the question mark. I forget what term it had for it, but it is like on Cops n' Robbers with the "take cash" option. Often hit a quid off it. Awful.

The inner grid is good; it is a small rectangle with loads of £2 boxes that you head around, but it is never long before you are taken out another level by one of the blue arrows. There is one arrow that takes you out one level, then again out another one, leaving you no other option to collect as you are likely to hit a question mark or 'game over.' Very disappointing as would be good if only at times it would lengthen the period of time you spent in the inner level, etc.

The top part which runs up to the best feature and jackpot repeat is good, but again it can very easily take you out of it with no chance for you to collect the features. You hit shots and there are arrows that you can hit to enable you to bring you up a level. "Wizards Wealth" is one feature on there which might help some of you to recognise this machine. I think that that particular feature is on the second level at the top bit and on the right hand side.

If anyone could help me out here I would appreciate it. I would like to know why exactly it chinned me after going red on me. I mean everything went red. :? :x :( :(

Thanks, one n' all.
Andy.

Hi Andy.

Firstly, can i congratulate you on your correct use of english 8) . Been sick to death of reading text message style posts all over the place!

The machine you are on about is called Money Magic, by games media. Global also make machines, though nothing too recent.

What you've described sounds like typical fayre on these style machines. The all red board has conned many people into thinking it's invincible....it's actually obtained by getting 3 red boxes in reel play, and just makes everything super. Quite often it's only worth a fiver odd anyway, which is disappointing.

The only Invincible modes on this are a flashing logo, and spinning to a ? mark and survving on your very first spin.

HTH

Stuck a hellava lot in the phucker !! :( :|

What do you think of said machine ? I wouldn't mind having one in my house to play on. Am trying to totally give up the things, but is very hard, as you might be able to relate to.

Thanks for the comment on my English. One of the few things I can do half well.. :)

Do not play it. Maybe if its offering £10-£15 or more, force (read the noob glossary) it mite pay off. Though I have seen £230 into one of these machines before for a jackpot. nice.

Were you using the extra life rip? If it's not dead then it won't take it off you for a while. If it does, then the machine is simply not ready. Collect £3 and walk! If it lets you keep it, see what the board offers and re-asses. As others have said, not worth forcing unless its buzzing its tits off. These can streak big and often too. (lot of £105s).

(To do the extra life rip, you need to have an "add again" bonus and land on a heart square. The machine doesnt reconise that you have the bonus, so it usally allows you to win the Hi-Lo gamble for the second heart (dont attempt on a 6, 7 or 8 ). You then use your bonus for the third). <---- This is common knowledge now, so hope people dont mind me posting it.

Nice to see a fellow NI player on here (not that I live in Belfast anymore).

However, I'm coming over for a couple of days at the weekend - so lock up your daughters / machines.

Aye, I think I high/lowed to do this and it still chinned me soon after.

I quite like the layout of the board, its features, etc., but the way in which it rips you off the top of the board / the inner bit really frustrates you. If it permitted you to stay on a bit longer - I mean you are playing 30p or 50p a spin here and so you should warrent being kept on for longer - then it would be a good game, imo. I think machines have got worse in the past number of years. You pump loads and loads in and they play very little in difference to what they were when you began playing it. Truely awful, tbh !

I ended up sticking 200, or very, very close to it, in the thing between the night and the following morning.

Oh, and Cardinal Richelieu, happy days, boss ! :) The day I played this thing was after NI losing to Iceland. Was upstairs in the Bot. and came down and stuck loads in this sucker. Needless to say it was a very unhappy night... :( :(

Ah yes! The Bot! Watched the NI v Sweden match there recently - the TV cameras were in filming, what a cracking game.

There is another chap, Darren, who frequents this board from NI, but I think that's about it. I used to play in the SUperbowl quite a bit when I lived there, but sadly that's not there anymore. I used to play in the arcades on the Newtownards Road until I got threatened...I've since found out they are all owned by Loyalist groups, so I'll think I'll steer clear of them.

My sister used to live near the Newtownards Road. She lived next to a guy she reckoned to be in the 'DA. He didn't have a job according to her. Probs ran protection racketts, or some s**t. Did they threaten you for taking a fair bit of cash out of a machine, or what ?

The Sweden game would have been lethal in there. The atmosphere is unreal. Walked in on Saturday for the Latvia game and the whole place was in full voice. Unbelievable. My mate was over from Hudderfield and was taking videos on his phone saying to me "this is how you support your country !"

I have played in the Odyssey Superbowl quite a bit recently. I originally thought that was where you were speaking of. Know where you mean, though - just off Dublin Road, fairly close to the Europa, etc. ?

You played 'em much over the years, kid ? I am trying to get off them altogether as I am in pretty bad debt with bank charges, etc. Am intending going to G.A., although wouldn't mind buying a couple of machines for the house... :D 8) :D

I never used to take huge amounts - it was more the consistent winning (on stuff like Pie Factory) while everyone else was doing their bollocks.

I've been to the Odyssey a couple of times. Shame the Belfast superbowl is no longer there. I normally play quiz machines nowadays, of which there is a great dearth around Beflast.

There used to be a decentish arcade in the Europa Bustation - not sure if it's there anymore.

What is the G.A ?

I can remember playing Pie Factory quite a wee bit

Haha, I have been in that arcade a fair bit since I moved to the 'shaft, man. Has Battleaxe which I enjoy playing - love those boards. Barcrest machine that, ain't it ? They have a few more with similar boards. Very rarely give you more than 4 quid, but enjoyable to play. They also have a Cn'R machine and a Big Brother which I never really liked.

G.A. is Gambler's Anonymous (sp.?), matey..

It wasn't! Although it's blindingly obvious now that I think about it! I thought he was on about the GAA, but wasn't sure.

I used to have a machine in my house - it's a bit of a hassle carting it about. My advice would be to download all the emulators!

Might give the HSS a wee blast for old times sake on teh way over... 30+ clubbers, surely one will be ready to pay :D

Why would it be ? Whenever you stick loads in the things, wasting money that could be spent on going on great holidays, buying golf clubs, clothes, etc., then things need to be addressed, don't you think ?!

Ahhh, the old Stena HSS. There are a quare few 4-reelers in there that are just begging to be played. I can remember running around thinking I was in Heaven years ago when I used to get the boat to the Mainland.. :D
