After the new legislation banning section 16's, what on earth is going to happen to them all, all the agora's seem to just leave them sitting there just off... what's going to happen to the BFM ones that cant be converted?!

Also wtf happened in sea side arcades, they had thousands of those section 16's and now only 4/arcade!

Agoras have them all turned off - yeah I have an agora here and theres at least 10 m/cs all truend off, including a multiplayer monopoly!

I've seen a BFG monopoly turned into £35 lo-tech, all the gala's are turning them into £35ers too, including stuff like reel king and rainbow riches.

Those machines cost over £2000 when new, especially with all the stupid addons, they're hardly going to throw them away.

Just as an aside, what happens to all the old AWPs we used to know and love?

I realise a few end up in the home or some decrepit cafes somewhere, but the vast majority just vanish. Do they get recycled? What about the older cabinets - e.g. the ones which open at the back?

They get recycled - new glasses, lighting looms, labels on the buttons put on (the door replaced, basically) and the EPROM or Flash chip on the board updated with a new game. I've seen some of the Horizon (dildo ) cabs with touchscreens on them as well. God knows about the older style cabs though.

Most machines these days dont get the full conversion treatment.
There is only an expensive and limited choice of conversion kits on the market for sec16,so would probably explain the storage of the said machines.
Used machine sales companies usually by machines in bulk from operators,these machines will be at the end of the chain in the operation for revenue to the company,so the sales companies get them at a reasonable price as they are no longer of use to the operator and taking up volumes of space in their depots.
As most of the machines bought in are £25 and in a short time when no longer operator needed £35 payout, the sales company will clean them up and convert a good % of them down to £5 cash,advertise them to the trade to which most sold as fillers for seaside and other arcades.
As the sales company is buying in bulk they have to take pot luck on certain loads,so a few of the bought in machines will be damaged and parts missing so those machines along with machines too old to sell will be stripped for spares then flat packed into a skip.
Regarding the older machines (such as the back door type),these machines as you will have noticed get flogged to death in arcades,so other similar style machines will be scrapped for parts to keep them running.
Finally the survivors get sold privately by "Licenced" sellers,Ebay and other free ad outlets, and those circulate until they too get scrapped,although there are some enthusiasts that are buying up old and rarer machines to collect and restore.

the BFM are getting turned into bullseye points for pounds or monopoly wheel of wealths.

the bell fruit eclipse are dogshit and just take upo room, we have 7 sitting taking uop space in the garage.
