would like to know how people go about this one
Arcades...
It depends on a lot of things, location mainly.
In our town centre we have a few arcades, one is at the quiet end of town and has had 5 different owners over the last 6 years it's always been pretty crap with staff who don't care and the owners have never been around, it's rare to see more than one or two people in there and it has no regular big spenders.
However about 600 yards up the road closer to all the shops and bus station there's a 'kings' amusements, they stock all the latest machines, listen to the customers requests for machines and the staff are very friendly, you get a cuppa and a buttie as soon as you walk through the door. You never get funny looks when you win and they're always happy to swap coins back for notes unlike some arcades!
The owner of that drives round in a brand new Bentley
So in short, yes i reckon they can be great businesses if run correctly and in the right area.
