Borderline between playing for profit/addiction
Borderline between playing for profit/addiction
Since joining this forum 4 months back, I learned that it is actually possible to win on a few modern fruities thanks mainly to a couple of forum members who helped me out a bit when i first joined (they know who they are).
Have been playing a couple of types of machines in the area for the past few months for around 30-50 pounds a week profit on average.
In the last month i've been wasting cash on all sorts of machines I don't usually play/have no idea how to play (billy the quid, money magic, warped, to name a few), and trying to force for crazy profits. but now i'm going back to being disciplined and collecting the cash available, even if it's just a fiver steal.
I think it's a tough line to walk between playing for profit and going stupid on the machines when they are not playing as well as you hoped.
Any thoughts.

I would never advise forcing any of them Warped/Goldrush/Money Magic/BTQ
Even when showing good signs they cost the earth and more to the point are dull as f**k to play
Get one board and take what you can on these
Reds are where the profit is but you need to know them well
Once you know the signs and find them ready you can make big on them
You can also lose big on them, forcing when not ready
You can get lucky on them collecting wins and making a few quid
But for me these are the ones to force
You do however need the funds on you
I never have less than £300, thats £100 in coins and at least £200 notes for back up, you never know

I play solely for profit.....don't get any real excitement or enjoyment from playing anything these days!
I would also agree that you shouldn't really go forcing games media machines as they can be unpredictable as hell. As for cool games (BTQ/Bucks), i force these a fair bit now and find them reasonably profitbale to be fair. Had bucks go flat then £70 today for a good £40 profit, which isn't to be sniffed at.

"Sixty percent of the time, it works, every time!"
i always have 100 coins on me and 100 coins in the car and some notes too if i'm out on my own, its not too bad if your with someone, luckily i've never ran out of money on 1 particular machine but i've been down too the last £20 or so a few times on a blatentley ready red thats being stubborn and its not a nice feeling, especially if theres eyes everywhere ready too pounce.MrRed wrote:

Cobwebs
A few people have suggested i try the reds but i tend to avoid these due to some of the horror storeis (and i have no skills/knowledge of how to play these in general, think i have quake, paycheque and pulsation nearby iirc).
I tend to play 3 safe machines in nearby pubs with a float of 70, several times a week (don't own a key or would even dare try it as all the pubs i go in have instant bans for keying, heard that keying is essential for reds).

Alcozar, you probably have the same philosophy towards gaming as I do. I've been playing for nearly a decade so I've seen most machines come and go and although I have never known anyone 'in the know' I've still done reasonably well. We have probably both read all the threads about the guys on this forum forcing Reds and winning £x, but they know alot more than the average punter and either have or do work in the game or have built up a network of reliable and informed acquaintances.
I, however very rarely force I play as many machines in a day as I can and know when to walk away. For instance, I am happy taking a profit of only £5/6 per machine on several machines, obviosly taking the odd hit and maybe an IM or a couple of big wins, rather than ploughing £60/80 for the hope/expectancy of a £105 top, saying that once you've forced a Red or two, you gain a bit more confidence and experience - who says you can't buy experience
What I would say is don't be greedy, play how you want to play and if someone says you're taking all the 'play' out of the machine politely ask them whose money is being used then tell them where to go. I hate new machines as they are all programmed to pay out in big lump sums but, sigh, I am still drawn to them as there could be a profit somewhere and as long I still have a couple of VIU's an Addams Family and a Hot Stuff I'll be a player!
One last thing, set yourself an achievable target to hit and once you've made it GO HOME. Sorry for the essay but we are not all pro's nor can we be, by the way if you're still reading Alcozar, where abouts in M'chester are you?

Prefer to keep my location in Manchester private as previously lost a machine to a shark by telling too much. From what you have said in general though, agree with most of it about milking rather than forcing the few machines I play.ma71lda wrote:Alcozar, you probably have the same philosophy towards gaming as I do. Hoping to become a better player by Christmas and then maybe I'll challenge the dreaded reds.
I've only started playing to win for a few months and have a lot to learn, a few years ago I was a typical munter filling up machines for others and soon stopped playing machines altogether.
Thats cool, sensible not to give your town away but I don't rush out to play Reds, now if it 4/5 years ago and there was a Hellraiser/ clone I would have ran there :P
One of my first posts I gave a list of what was in Bury and more or less got called a mug, no skin off my nose as I don't live there and very rarely play there
After Christmas you'll probably be forcing machines and calling me a mug, getting info off these guys is meant to be like getting blood from a stone, so well done and if you don't ask you don't get - I don't ask I don't get

I'm happy to receive private message of any good info to help me become a better player, wouldn't expect any of the sensitive info for free but any pointers to improve/oldish emptiers for machines that may still be around are welcome.
Now something like a Take the Piece emptier i'd never expect to receive as if it exists, is probably red hot.
As you said above, if you don't ask, you get nothing. I joined here with nothing and now getting a small profit (30-50) each week until machines are gone, so I am grateful to any knowledge from the dozen or so gambling gods on the forum.

i dont see how you can be a player and not play reds
i have been making most of my dough through panthers/corries/cleudos.
however if a red is past a 5er i will force it after turning it all red.
8/10 times will be in profit of normally a score.
have had 105 off 6quid before!!
loads of money in reds

Each to their own, I just don't get along with Reds. Why force a style of machine you don't enjoy and regret it when you walk away down. Too many good players milk them and leave them dead, I do take my hat off to them and I enjoy some reds but not newer m/c's - Vortex, Invincible. FNC and SMTM etc.
