With the new laws restricting the number of £500's to 4 per arcade, one might hope it would lead to more high techs being around in them;
have people noticed this to be the case, or have they just stuck £35 versions of RR etc. or chucked more bar x style granny machines in?!?

Thats what I suspect is gonna happen. The video screen AWP is gonna take over I reckon. Las vegas style machines just does nothing for me
I've been to Vegas and all the lads where saying i'd never be off them but in truth I rarely played them. Just no entertainment whatsoever.

It'll be unfortunate if they go down this route. I play for fun as much as I do profit and these computer screens are awful.
Even today I tried a couple of them ;- £10 in a LBO slots won a quid, £10 in an Elvis won a quid and £25 in a Haunted House and won about £4, I know I have to play more than these amounts but the m/c's are absolute toss and they weren't going to spoil my day ( I ended £103 up on the day even with these losses :x

).

lol playing more than these amounts is certainly NOT what you should do, these are random machines, you could win the £500 in £10/20, every £10/20 you put in after this oringinal £10/20 has EXACTLY the same chance of winning anything big

Totally agree, wheres the fun of just pressing start and hoping for the best........ if it ends up down that route of vegas then it truly is curtains for us all.

just had 1 elvis and a rainbow riches swapped for a phil taylor and one of the dond clones, last 3 times i've been in there the owner has been sat on a stool playing 2 s16 machines at the same time... maybe she was trying too have them over before the new law

some of the ones in vegas are actually fun to play. there are some if you look hard enough in some casinos actually do a streak.
but i will agree most of them are crap , although they do have a high % payout over there , better than the s16 crap and better than the beetles, and party animal that were out here originally in the casions.

ones that do a streak!? how is this possible, all vegas machines are random based on RNG's, as such any streak is pure co-incidence.
also s16's were on high percentages (94% - 98%), I found hi roller on £5/spin to be quite fair (98% on £5/spin), had a fair few sessions on it had a couple of £500's and literally loads of £250/150/100's, certainly I'm well up on this one.. (crest ones unfortunately have probably lost what I made on this) Another one that paid alot of jp's was oceans 11 on £10/spin 98%, although you can obviously do ur brains in minutes on this.
Vegas machines are not in the 98% region, and not even the 94%, although I have seen the posters for 97% when I was there in a special bit of the casino, which housed only boring bar x style machines, I imagine the video screen machines, some of which were a laugh to play, are stuck in the mid 80%'s. OK they have bigger jp's, but so what, its so damn unlikely you'll win that - at least on s16's you see it relatively frequently...
After all that said though, still glad to see the back of them...

Do they have a 'bedding in' time to carry this out then?
I ask this because all my local arcades have more than 4 at the moment.
