Time to hang up the old clogs

Post by Johnny Boy »

Well ive finally decided that the time is right for me to finally put an end to my gambling an-ticks.

In the last two weeks ive propably lost around 1K, dont know what the fuck is going on im my area but all the machines are just doing shit with pathetic streak potential and flat JPs. I can normally get through the month breaking even (which i think is good with all the ups and downs that can happen and with going out about 5 times a week), so to be so massively down has put a dampener on it all.

So ive decided that although you have good days the bad ones really do out weigh them - its just getting harder and harder now ?

So this is it my fellow gamblers, im goin to retire my pound coins and hope to start saving my money instead of fritering it away in a big metal piece of shit covered in flashing lights which want to fuck me up the arse.

Good luck everyone.

Rant Over
One last pound

How much did you lose before you posted that? :)

Did you play full time? (Actually, does anyone on here play full time still??)

Best thing I ever did was stop entering arcades on a lunchtime (8 Years give or take), just managed to stop that as Sec16's were being introduced!

You will probably still play, like I still do!, but it's much better to restrict it to pubs (Where the Hi Techs still are!) at least then you can get better info on a smaller number of m/c's.(i.e payout histories etc.)

Unless your an addict and you just wanted that off your chest, in which case I've just wasted my time replying.

But I hope not, good luck.

No way! I can't reasonably see how anyone could survive solely on AWP wins nowadays...

I don't think I'd go near them at all if I didn't know that I had a nice safe financial blanket to fall back on..

Good luck with giving up though however!! I hope you do well! :)

I do :? , well more or less. The only problem with that is your left running around 2 out of the 7 days with little worth touching, however when i get my moped back on the road this shouldnt be a problem as i can travel further afield.

And how much do you make Darren?

I won;t even say "don't lie" cos I don't think you would.

Personally I've just been on a CC in the Bookies, not showing many Reds from the start, put £40 through it Managed one top feature and a handful of £6/£7 wins. Ended up leaving it with £36. (So to all the mathmaticians out there, I lost!<laugh>)

Still, threw a few coins in the roulette, surrounded 11, 8 and 30 total bet £4.80. 11 came in twice within about 8 spins so I walked away with £70.

£30 up, but then I put £10 through Cash Adder (Which I don't like but was killing time! hardly ever ever flashes! Is ours the only version that lets you collect on a question mark? I can;t help but think it would play better if casual punters were not allowed to collect "£2" just cos they think their gonna lose!) lost £6. so £24 up today which I;m pretty pleased with!

No doubt I'll check out Slider before I start my shift today at the pub. (Was playing this the other day and managed to turn all the features red BUT! I was already on the feature side of the board, even if I was at the bottom! gutted! no exchange, therefore no top feature awarded.)I still walked away about £20 up though, you really don't have to force reds to make a profit. I think Find the Pea (On red) can unlock a couple of easy £15-£20 boards if the m/c is happy.

Anyway, my fingers are tired, to get back to the point - DARREN, HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE A WEEK?<laugh> :D

I don't play full time - the rounds i do require a replenishment, so i have to leave them. Plus i have a degree to finish.
I've more or less figured the best ones to hit in my ever changing circle of machines, which only totals about 10 machines (1xKKC, 2x Hot Shot, 1xDnD, 2xNuns 1xDNA 1x Round The Bend 1x Space Raiders)
I usually win something half decent, and this week i've cleared £200 (see my long day post :wink :)

Surely its too hard to play (and win) full time? :D

Depends where you live! Darren has the advantage of living in a land where fruit machines are a bit behind the times (hence the money laundry), and the locals not as clued up.

It also depends on how far you can travel!

Also depends on who else plays in the area, how much discipline and knowledge you've got...

And of course LUCK!

That depends really, i would probably be better off playing every other day as I tend to have a bit of trouble making on a few days in a week. If i really set my mind to it i can make £100+ a day without any problems. Over the last few days things have been going well as ive found a magic games as well (oh btw how much do these things hold?!, are they random or % based?) so the running total for the last few days is around £300, £200 of which went on clothes yesterday. The thing is that when i have money i find myeslf losing discipline quickly and playing shit.

Found a GBC offering red hot picker from the off yesterday and backing which cost £70 to use the SSS method, then the SSS didnt even come back. Fooking disgrace :?
