erm ok lost my fukkin balls and arse cheeks on the roulette in the bookies this weekend....used to happen b4 when i went in hills....till i cracked the screen with a left hook...severed tendon the lot....now its appening again in corals....just wondered if any1 has had any experience like this and any1 got any ideas/theories how to stop etc.....even thinkin about phonin trisha or jez kyle up.....

Once you have the understanding that they are not random, you won't feel the urge to play them.

i learnt they werent random when it threw in 5 20's in a row . Apart from that is obvious, its a MACHINE! . Anyway i like chucking the odd £60-100 on black.

I'm a firm believer that these FOBT machines are completely random (or as close to random as you can you get) - i.e. they're not set to a percentage. But rather than rehash all the same old arguments, I'll direct you to this thread:

If they have value in them, then you could put 5 quid on 1 number and it will come in. They are rigged just like most other machines...thats how they make their money on them.

It's not entirely beyond the realms of possibility that the number might come up anyway.

Roulette doesn't need any jiggery pokery to make the customer lose in the long-run. These machines have been out for 5 years now - in that time, not one person has provided ANY proof that they are not 'random', apart from recounting a tale of when they saw an unbelievable chain of numbers emerge from one machine.

Next time you lose on one of these machines, try cursing your luck / stupidity rather than insisting that the whole set-up is rigged to relieve you of your money.

True, if you go down to your local casino and watch a real unrigged roulette table it will also do "completely unrealistic and unbelievable sequences". That is what probabilities and statistics are all about. Patterns do occur over a small sample but over 1,000,000,000,000,000 spins each number will have occured the same number of times (well within a single %).

I cant beleive people are stupid enough to think these things are still rigged....

Why rig a game that you would make loads of money from, even when its not rigged - why do you think caisnos fill their rooms with bucket loads of sit down roulette terminals that are video linked to tables, and also does anyone think casinos dont make a packet from this game - AND IT IS NOT RIGGED HERE YET THEY MAKE A FORTUNE - SO WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU RIG IT AS A BOOKIE, RISK LOSING YOUR LISCENCE AND THUS BILLIONS OF POUNDS!!!

Wierd sequences of numbers come up in casinos just as much as they do in bookies, but due to the fact bookies roullette is way way quicker, you see more numbers per hour, and thus more sequences, it's hardly that suprising.

Roulete pays 97.4% in bookies, so that means 2.6% goes to them on average EVERY spin, so if people bet an average of £10 on a spin, thats 26p per spin they expect to make, you can do about 2 spins a minute so thats 52p/minute, * 4 machines = £2.08 a minute *60 minutes = £125/hour profit.... THIS IS HUGE - WHY RIG THEM!!!!

If anyone still thinks they're rigged after all this explaining, you must be pretty slow...

£125 an hour is fuck all really. though I would doubt the average being £10 so that would probably be higher. I do believe ladbrokes ones are genuine; very unsure of william hilll and coral but I don't remember the last time i played one anyway. Stick to fruit machines, or better still quiz machines where there is an element of skill and the losses are much smaller.

yup.....well a lil fact for ya....the coral roulettes are run by GLOBAL DRAW, a subsiduary of SCIENTIFIC GAMES, the parent company of GAMES MEDIA....but aparts from that....guess self-control is the key here as in all gambling.....thx for ya thoughts fellas....SALUT!!

£125/hour is massive for a bookies, over a 10 hour day thats £1250 in day in profit or almost £10K a week, fruit machines make no where near this... although obviously I concede the machines are not always going to be played, but then again perhaps the average is over £10, depends where you are I suppose...

if you want to play roulette, just play the betfair casino zero lounge roulette where there is no zero on the wheel, and as such 100% payout (no its not rigged before anyone starts up), so you are as likely to win as lose in the long run, unlike bookies/casino roulette, where you are almost sure to be down in the long term - why would you want to play with a zero, when you dont have too!

no not really, it doesnt matter how "greedy" you are, or how you play the game whatsoever, as in overall statistical terms your getting an expected value (this is not what you will ACTUALLY get, but more an average) back of 100% of your total stake over the long run- thats not to say you cant influence the standard deviation of this expected value by betting in different ways...

i.e. you could put £100 on black and £100 on red for 10 spins, stake £1000 and be sure to get your 100% back ie. £1000.... ie. no deviation

you could also put £100 on the number 20 for 10 spins, in statistical terms your expected value would be £1000, but you wouldnt actually get £1000, you'd get £0 or £3600 or £7200... etc. the deviation from the 100% here would be huge...

The reason they provide this game is not to make a profit from it ( the game, for them is not regarded as profit or loss as it is a 100% game ), but to attract people to other casino games they offer which do take a house percentage, or to their sports exchage where they take a 5% commision.

You couldn't do that red/black thingy....if a 0 or 00 comes in, then you are stuffed :P

Annoying thing I find with the machines is the fact that as soon as the ball spins you know where it is going to land. It kind of takes away the fun. With roulette in a casino all depends on power of spin etc could take a nasty kick a bit more random.
