on my travels yesterday, suddenly I found that EVERY spoons I went to had converted all their machines ( maybe bar 1 if it doesnt convert ie. kings ransom ) to £35jp, along with a few other pubs....

about bloody time... had a load of £70 tops which were nice, but not yet had the £105!

Where were you travelling mate? They're cropping up all over down this way too. Played a King Rich yeseterday that was all labelled up as a £25, but was clearly a £35 edition. Managed £107 off of £60, which wasn't terrible, likes to offer Red features often (well, it has done the couple of times I've played it!) and built up a good bank before I got the three beer cans for a £35 top.

My local Spoons has had this done too..

They were definitely the same machines, just with different prize overlays inserted.

The Invincible was bizarrely £188 off and Jailbirds was £1 starting, so I left those. However On a Roll was very ready and gave a £70 top followed by a green Big Bucks, which was good for £7.

Coronation Street, also changed to £35, seemed very ready too but strange things were happening with the coin mech. First pound I put in dropped over the back, second sounded as though it wanted to go into the hopper but stopped short; So I stuck a 50p coin in which backed as normal, and seemed to take a couple of other coins down with it. I got up into the top zone twice and lost, but when I entered more pound coins they didn't back nor did they go into the hopper. I keyed it and it was full - so I played on nervously and eventually the coin mech refused to take any more coins (of any sort), and the notey displayed the red X.

A right pain that as I was £14 in and it looked ready to drop, giving 2 step starts, Super Starts and so on.

Grrr...

Did you collect a small win to check that the hopper was paying out ok? It could have been worse if the machine dropped the jackpot but then IOU'd or something!

Still have yet to see a £35 jackpot machine yet.

In general do people find that they play much the same as £25ers just with slightly longer blocks before the JP is given?

I thought about doing that - but it was playing so well and I had plenty of coins with me that I carried on in the hope that it wouldn't be a problem. It was in a Wetherspoons near me and they are brilliant at making sure you get your winnings back, so a big IOU would not have been a problem.

It was effectively a straight race between me winning something and the machine going wrong - and it won.

For me - yes and no. I haven't fully got my head round the £35ers yet, mainly because I've only got a few to play.

Looking at a machine like Invincible, it really seems to play very similarly to the £25 version, just with longer gaps between tops. You simply take your cue from the appearance of the Skill Stop, Number Runner and All-Red-Bar-1 boards. Simply checking the next board or two and looking for another top should be enough to determine whether there's any value left to be had.

I'd say £35 On a Roll is actually more predictable than the £25 version; £35 FNC is horrible compared to the £25 version; and obviously there've been mixed results for most people on the £35 Extremes, as you'll read in other forums.

Whitbread have changed all there's, my work now has a Rover's Return and an Open the box.

Norwich spoons are all 35, had a 1-1-1 jailbirds which climbed to 25 on the cash that board, followed by a nice cashpot, also had a nice set of wins from the campers.

Saw my first and only £35 Jp in a brewsters last week.
It was DOND with a matrix for blue and red boxes.
I was with the mrs so i couldn't do any risky gambles just wanted a quick sample.
Played 50p stake so all features start on red. First feature multi add lit up the 3 phones but also offered super step to nearest win. £20 quid flashing so played the safe option and collected it.
Next feature again sstnw this time with £15 flashing so took it.
Next feature again sstnw another £15.
Then 2 very dead boards before 3 phones taking an offer of a tenner.
All in all £60 out for about £20 in within 5 minutes.

First impressions was not bad at all. I like the super step to nearest win alteration. Basically it ignores the mixed 7's.

Just a quick question but does the new 35Jp hold more coins (I.e 250 with note changer) than the 25Jps?

I don't believe it does Tom. I'd imagine any new machines that are made will all be £250 capacity, notechanger or not. If it was £125 and you got a £105 top, you could easily empty it with afters. The only thing that might be an issue is all these crappy reglasses and modified £25JP machines that are old.

Found my first £35ers yesterday evening.
A take your pick open the box and monopoly road to riches.

Didn't have much cash but thought i'd have a quick go and chance my arm.

A few small wins from TYP and a £20 open the box from about £15 in ... nice i thought move onto the monopoly.
Played the monopoly on 50p was gambling up and playing the trail well but despite winning on TYP still didn't fancy a force so colllected a couple of £15 trail wins and 2 super streaks for £9 and £8. Got to about £40 quid and thought time to leave.
Picked up my pint for a quick swig and hit the start for the last time drops in a bonus and not concentrating (watching england lose another wicket :x :x :x ) I just tapped the start button with the my pint glass.

Only drops in SSS Nearly drop pint (still in right hand) on floor in process of hitting it on £8 ops: Feature died quite quickly :x

Dicipline now goes totally out the window and I decide to force for JP
Cost exactly £35 for IM which went for £35 rtr. A little afterplay but no return of SSS.

Moral of the story concentrate on the machine till the last credit, but at least i did win my first £35 JP
