Thought I'd share this resolution with you, perhaps risking ridicule, to see if anyone else is of the same opinion on the playing the fruits/life balance.

Bad side

The physical and mental burden of playing machines is underestimated by many. I work as a QS, mainly on spreadsheets dealing with figures all day and when I play machines (most nights) I "grab" something to eat which is never nutritious and engage in some more mental activity, which really tires me out and has a knock on effect for tomorrows sharpness. When I get free time it's impossible to relax as I always thing I should be playing. Aside from my full time job my firm is sponsoring me to do a commercial management degree by correspondence from the University of Reading (supposed to be 16hrs a wk), which again requires application and military type time management (something which I don't practice). Along with other activities like football on a Saturday and squash twice a week, beer with the lads and the bird I'm supposed to be seeing it is impossible to get any time to chill out.

Good side

Made 10k in the last 10 months

Verdict

New years resolution - play less and take time to enjoy life

Well I got upto $250 on the Poker off $60 and had foru of a kind 4s which I went all in on a NL room and someone appeared to have a Royal Flush. This has made me feel ill today, I thought I was well in.

So thats to quit in New Years becuase I often lose, want to quit the FOBT'S, want to stop playing machines as much (the ones without blags on) and want to stop eating Mayo.
