So I've only been here a few days! ...But I've played for years and never thought/been arsed to join a forum! So last nite came home and the gf was a bit off.. turns out she'd opened a bank statement of mine (naughty girl- I know) And been pretty shocked at what she saw inside.

In honour of her, *hopefully* yesterday will be my last day of gambling, certainly going to give it a try and I'm slightly more confident than not I will succeed!-She's worth it.

Anyone with me!?

Anyone tried &failed/tried & managed it?

?

Yeah, it was mine too, but it has just been brought forward a little! given her my cash card, bringing just a tenner out with me every day (and my travelcard of course!) so even if i wanna play, i wont be able to!

closing my jackpotjoy and cyberslotz accounts too, soon as I see if they give me an xmas freebie first :P

Four Words :

That Pisses Me Off

Yes it does, I HATE IT when parents (it can apply to anyone you know this) snoop around and see things I dont want them to see. I dont even wanna know what they do whilst im at work for 8 hours of the day!!

Hey i think we have all been there,When i first started playing many moons ago ,i would get paid on a Friday and be skint Saturday.Call it a learning process. But when you have a Family of your own things are different.Cant believe how many m8s of mine have asked me to lend them money cos there in trouble with the Mrs,Sit back and ask yourself what you want in life.Luckily i am still making a few quid a week if i wasnt i would probably jack it in too and just sit back and wait for the next empty to come along

Yeah obviously her opening my mail is BANG out of order, but in a way I'm glad she did, gives me a real added incentive to not play, cos im likely to be found out and likely to be very embarrassed about it. I have the potential to make a small amount of money day in day out, but I think I'm just too greedy, and I know for me it is better to stop than to convince myself I can control it well enough to not gamble on.

I think even having an emptier on one machine would encourage me to play others!

Wish me luck

Best of luck on giving it up, there are more important things in life and if you do succeed, at least you know you can control it. I only play at the weekend and still make decent money most weeks but I know when to stop, if i'm on a bad run i'll leave it until the next week knowing that the float I carry is "disposable". Discipline is the key to gambling as everyone knows. If you master that then you will win more than you lose.

Yeah, thanks for the encouragement too, I cant trust myself to be disciplined I think, so its best to knock it on the head!! don't think wifey wants a gambler as a BF anyway; whether i lose OR win!

..shed probably just expect presents anyway :D

In all honesty, if you're really addicted then you're not likely to just be able to stop... you thought of limiting it somehow, ie only playing emulated machines, or sticking to £5JP's or something?

Sounds daft, but it's like if you wanted to stop smoking you wouldn't just stop, you'd have nicotine patches and the like and slowly lose the will to carry on doing whatever it was you were addicted to.

And by the look of her, she's definately worth the effort mate :D .
