Walked into a pub today that do daily refills

Not a spoons or yates' just a normal bar

They have a space raiders and lucky strike

Got a drink and walked over to the space raiders
Just about to put my pound in when the manageress comes over and says 'i have to top that m/c up'
Playing dumb i say 'what do you mean'
She explains they have to do it now its 'company policy'
Then she says when i have filled it up, you can go on it, and you will have a better chance of winning

Anyway she turns the refill key and i see its £65 off (no notechanger)
'No thanks i think, no need to try a board'

She tuts and says to me 'i get fed up doing this every day'
Then says 'at least i did not have to put even a £1 in the other one'

Really i say, and go on it, £15 in £45 out
Thats one way to beat the daily refillers

£2 credit and collect the bank. before you know its £150 down, must be a right ball ache for the manager re-filling it everyday.

this method must be purely aimed at players too try catch us out, why else would they do it?

It is

I very rarely go by the key now though
I always went by it
Now i just look at how the m/c is playing
I always key reds though then check how they play

The worst though is refilled reds
It can cost £20 for a board to find out its dead
Although you can tell by how the reels spin if its on the suck

I now visit spoons on nights only
If full you know it will have had play that day, whatever day as spoons are always busy
One thing the pub chains cannot stop is 'knowledge'
Which most of us on here have :P

There's a pub locally I hit regularly, over the summer it had a Lucky Strike and King kerching, then a Round the Bend(chipped), and now a DNA and Most Daunting(chipped). My mate and I make quite a lot of money out the place as it is full of complete mugs, even the landlord and his missus do their nuts down the machine straight out the till. They've cottoned on to this recently and started refilling daily - doesn't make a difference though, the DNA is ready every 3-4 days and the Daunting is always good for a quick tenner or more :)

Same here Mr Red, I always go by game play. One other thing to note is the refill meter, make a note of the number and then next time you go in there see how much it has been refilled by, this works well if playing in the same pub in the next day or two.
