Emptiers

just wondering


why would a company make a machine thats exposed to an emptier and how do people actually find these emptiers out , someone must be working behind the scenes.

Programmers some are put in on purpose,others cos the mc is rushed out to get on the market.

Na, if someone is talented (debatable, BFM) to programme a fruit machine they are more than capable of putting faults it to sell off and why not?

If all remember Fruitopias were emptied and then chipped and then there was another way to MT them. Some programmers deliberately put a clitch in the programmes, some are just rushed and errors occur.

Emptiers will last as long as there's bent coders willing to accept money for putting them into the code, and fruit machine players willing to pay money for them to be put into the code, it's that simple really.

not quite mate..

it was a straight upgrade from £15 to £25 and the blocks werent ammended,

once they found one way of chipping it, the machine had another way where it didnt block the jp..

this wasnt a deliberate error on the machine, it was just shabby re-programming and a bodge job on top to fix the errors.

i actually doubt there are many genuine "fixed" emptiers by annoyed programmers etc...

sometimes a mere wrong character in the code can cause adverse effects beyond u'd imagine.

something like supercharged tho.. wtf???

top gear - gamble cheat. not emptier as such but this is a "clever" cheat left in by the coders after the success of the DnP / Fireball machines. it worked... and sold many machines n clones.

i find it hard to believe that free wins and the like are found out by casual punter play by "pro" players. to verfiy that a win is really free you need to be logging the reflexes with the machine in your possesion and studying the output data from the bacta port, which believe me... is hard work.

I'm sure that any decent QA department would pick up the majority of 'bugs', both intentional and unintentional. Unless the chaps in the QA dept. are as bent as the programmers (if, there indeed are any!) they shouldn't get into the public domain.

Having said that, and playing devils addy, with the power available today to even the most basic programmer, things can be concealed that would bypass the most rigourous of testing.

What sort of wage do these programmers command? I'm classed as a programmer and take home a shade over £30k, I bet these boys are on double that... :(

Anywayz, what was the bloody 'technique' for Fruitopia? There was one at my bowling alley pushing 6-7 years back now, and I never knew how to play the bugger. LOL

I suppose it depends what you are programming really.

It can range from £20K - £100K

Mission - heh, agreed! It's such a talented job in most respects, but doesn't seem to command the levels of payment it should.

I'd love to get into 'proper' fruit machine programming, although I'd probably enjoy the design side better. (I do like to see myself as being a somewhat creative character!) Alas, I'm based too far away from any company.

Hang on, is it out of the question to start our own company?? I'd be able to come up with some initial outlay, cashwise?

on the original £15, apparently there was a free win,

also there was a little trick involving having less moved than you needed and getting the fruitopia feature.. if you timed out the board it would spin a number, as quite a few machines do, but fruitopia couldnt take you to a losing square, it took ages to do and lasted about a week


the £25, the skillspins feature wasnt set right, the jackpot amount was still available, as it was programmed to let you skill any win, and the old jp being £15, once it was willing to pay £15 it would let you have the feature, so you could get it over and over and make between £10 and £0 each time, although you usually ended up being able to get it and make a £5 for each £25 you ran through it,

once they removed that, they didnt realise that the reel blasts were almost the same line of programming,

the machine would block at 7 moves, not letting you have more than 7,

but it wouldnt just give you 7, you had to move around on the board and it would keep topping upo the moves, you just moved backwards and forwards and then it would let you have the nudges needed for the setups for either 7 reelblasts ( get all three jp symbols in view) or skillspins (get the 1st jp 1 above the line and one on reel 3 2 above the line and jam the buttons in) instant jp, test the next board for the streak, then if it didnt come, put £20 in and play the credits off by holding start!

took about 2-3 hours to empty a £250 hopper, although it was chipped out of most before the notechangers were common play, so it took about 1.5 hours to empty a 125, and it was better if you werent playing a full one!!!
