Time to stop playing?

I've played fruits since I was about 10 years old while watching my dad play cricket.
Over the last 35 years I've seen AWP jackpots go from £2 to £3, £4, £4.80, £6, £8, £10, £15, £25, £35, £70 and now £100.
I financed my uni degree emptying £4.80 and £6 Ace machines at £90 a time where the numbers on the reels paid a prize but the computer forgot to count it. That lasted years! Now even the slightest manipulation and the machines are chipped remotely.
Value is near impossible to find.
They stopped being AWP when the jp was about £25 as the money needed to have 'amusement' became far more than you'd ever take to the pub for a couple of pints.
And that's when they really stopped being fun for me.
Today for example I was on a circuit of the town and got pulled out of a hole having done £30 in a Golden Game, £20 on Double Up, £20 on The Big One and £15 on a Fiddle a Fortune when I went back to the Golden Game and cash or bust went Cashpot.
It's sad because I love the games but even winning the jackpot now is mostly 'Meh'. I think the notional jackpot has reduced with the £100 jp as they only repeat once whereas I occasionally had £70 machines go for £210 but I've never seen a megastreak go past £200.
Nowadays unless you chance upon a machine someone's done their buttons on you're lucky to ever see a feature offer more than £6 and they can take £300 or more before phoning and even then the game only has two values over £25.
Sad.
