Hi

what is the difference between the SR5 and the SR5I ? and can you use them on a machine where a C453A is used (astra machine)

SR5i is more secure but will work in machine exactly the same as SR5.

you could use it in place of a c453a mech as long as its configured properly. ie set to parallel mode and mech routing

where and how do you make the changers to get the SR5 working instead of the C435A?

On the back there is a rotary switch and a bank of 2 switches.

tha mech can be set to parallel, seriel or c-c talk mode and the routing can be changed from eeprom routing or routing mode using thses switches.

i can't remember the exact process, you might want to read a tech manual for the mech..
