Maygay M1B help

Post by Barry1506 »

Hi I have a old machine called inferno with the dreaded M1B main board , in the past I have replaced the battery and cleaned the board to remove any acid etc and it's been working for over a year but now randomly shuts down and now only powers up for about a minute.
I have all lights on apart from the 12V+ I have removed all the plugs on the board apart from the power cable and still no 12V+ light, but if I leave the power off for 30 mins it powers up again but like I say for about a minute the powers off any ideas please I would like to get to the bottom of the problem.

Inferno was a very nice machine, some decent samples on it, bit of nirvana, bit of aswad shine, canny few others. but saying that nearly all machines were good back then.

Ah yes that was the machine that played Venus by Bananarama on the feature board.

Yes all the Maygays of that time used to rip stuff out the charts plus other musical tastes.

What a weird mash up Eastenders is, I remember playing it with a non fruit playing mate and the first thing he said was "why is it playing the music from Back to the Future on Eastenders?" Because the board music was Huey Lewis - Power of Love. Also Danii Minogue on nudges and lots of stuff from The Stranglers. Surely they were in breach of copyright laws?
Corrie was Spin Doctors Two Princes, Housemartins Happy Hour and Debbie Harry on the Trolley Dash.

Games.

Tunes.

My personal favourite was the cleverly installed Pet Shop Boys West End Girls sample using the hold buttons and cancel. Such innovation, Maygay pissed all over their competitors in the early 90's.
