Ok I know it's not being introduced until 2017. But I'm guessing this will have an impact on all current fruit machines out there?
Just a thought

Apparently they work in current hoppers. Most video fruits can learn a token/coin, so a quick change of the routing plug (token to £1 hopper) and it should be good to go..... hopefully.
Not sure on reel based but I guess they can learn tokens aswell.
If not mechs will need to be reprogrammed.

the new coin has flat edges so i suspect there will be issues with azcoyn hoppers.
also suspect there will be problems with certain cabinets like old astra cabinets , party time, bullion bars etc.
these all rely on the coin rolling for the machine to function properly.

Tito in arcades/bingo halls should be the standard on machines

Yeah. I've seen a bar-X with Tito. Just doesn't seem right.

By the time the new £1 coin is released the stakes will have gone up to a fiver.

What do you mean by that? I have 6 classic barcrest machines! (Addams family, big game, sheik yer money, etc) surely I can just have the coin mechs re programmed??

coinmechs won't be a problem.
certain hoppers and certain cabinets might cause some unforseen issues.

I also have a Barcrest pacman game, im hoping it can be converted to support the new pound coin when it comes out, any ideas roughly how much it would be to convert a machine over to accept the new coin?

all you would need is coinmech update or replaced.
apparently the coin similer in size to current one, so hopper might be ok.
£30-£40 for coinmech?
