ok iv been streaming online and cannot get any kind of answers to my questions, so i thought id just ask out right and hope for the best

so iv been thinking of starting a fruit machine business for a while now, the whole concept kinda excites me being on the otherside of the game iv spent years playing but looking into it to even start outright id need about £15k with the machines and licence etc.
i was thinking looking around online and then thought what about if i was a middle man to start with? so this i where i know what i want but unsure if im actually aloud to do it...

so owning a pub with an alcohol licence, your aloud to have up to 2 slots without any gaming licences needed (please correct me if im wrong) iv looked online at a few sites, and roughly estimated i could get a £70 jackpot for £30 p/w... so my idea was to rent the machines from the companies that have the correct licences and putting them in local pubs and bars if i speak to the owners and rent out a floor space for say £50 p/w (total gestimate, wouldnt have a clue how much pubs charge to put the machines in) then i take the payouts, so in theory id literally just be the middle man, finding the location and putting the machine in, all the nitty gritty shit... in this context it looks to me that i wont need a licence as im not renting... am i right in thinking this?

i work part time for a fruit machine firm as well as working my nights. honestly i wouldnt even bother. business isnt as good and its hard to get into as its built on years of good reliability and the same face landlords do business with. and thats my point. why would a landlord bother with a middleman? heres how it works m8, a landlord will hire machines direct from a supplier,who in return have all the licenses in place (if a landlord wants to go it alone and own machines,he will still have to apply for a permit via council,even tho he owns a liquor license,AND,if the brewery company allows it as some have tie ins to suppliers) the gaming supplier will then typically have a 60/40 cut in their favour,as they will provide float,all licenses and service call outs. enterprise inns have a 33% 3 way split between them,landlord and their chosen supplier. hope you can see where you are way off in your thinking. nothing personal. dont blow your money

But say for example I have a friend that owns a pub which I can put a machine in, would the idea of being the middle man work and would I need a licence? Only expenses i would need to consider is rental of machine and floor space, so the number of machines wouldn't matter, I'd still be able to make a profit with 1 machine in a friends pub
I understand the business of machines are going down and I understand that most pubs have ties within businesses already but even if I only manage to get 1 machine and £20 p/w after expenses profit I'd be happy as it's just a side thing anyway :p

Two or three years ago someone who I vaguely know said they were planning to buy an arcade. Despite that person not being someone I would call a friend I told them it was a terrible idea, because the industry is sinking and the country is in recession.

but thats what im trying to say, it literaly wont cost me anything except the rental of £30 p/w where im pretty sure the takings will be higher than that...

i have a passion for gambling, so eventually i want to be looking at book making and casino type games, but the licences cost way to much for that to start with so fruit machines seem like an easy cheap option to gain my profits up abit, being the middle man i wont need a licence and still gain profit...

How are you going to start a business with no capital ?

To borrow money from a bank, you are going to have to have a business plan. As said above, why would any business involve a middleman ? Also £15k won't go far at all and the bottom has fallen out of fruit machines. have you any accounting skills to account for duties, VAT etc ?

i cant think of any gaming business/fruity provider that would do business with a middleman. THEY provide the machines direct,they dont need a middleman. they pay thousands in licenses each year, why would they want to have a middle man. we only deal direct with landlord or brewery. dont forget the fruits are swapped every 3 months average. you need serious dosh to afford that. everyone else has agreed on here with what im saying. save your dosh for a realistic idea. think of it this way,if you were an owner of a gaming business with staff etc, you need a van for multiple machines,fuel,gaming licenses,constant floating stock of machines,a unit not a house as you cant run business from abode,rent on unit,staff pay,spares for machines,liability insurance,etc etc then why would you rent a machine to somebody (you) to site in a pub that they could site one in themselves and effectively have you as a rival to their business space. it just doesnt happen
