Why are all the spoons and food pubs stopping pound coins going into the cash box?not that it really matters

Other chains have done this also. A bar manager told me they have bigger hoppers that never get fully floated - £600+ and the note cassettes get loaded now as part of the float, so no need for so many coins....believe what you will. I think the 2nd option is more common case.

I seen a gamestec woman float each machine with the previous hopper and 100 in notes. Given the change in attitude tho, it begs the question as to why spoons daily floated in the first place. I assumed it was coz punters got suckered by the fat cash box.

They might change that when the next empty goes a bit more widespread!!!

I've seen the floating of tenners also.

It's nice to use a pure gold to change your coins up in to £10 notes!

I was simply saying that potentially having silly amount of coins in the hopper and loading the machines up with notes is a dangerous game.

I always figured if I owned a pub I'd float my machines to £200. Provides a certain protection against shenanigans and is otherwise unlikely to go empty. And if someone did get a big win then refill it to get the notey back on.
