new 5p and 10p wont work as different metal content.its worse with parking meters as you end up having to pot excess in as a lot wont take small change

they can't be arsed to go round sites with a mech reprogrammer to sort them all out , would have been done a piece of piss if the pounds changed though

I've known machines to take those shiny new 10's and give 50p credit.

The mech's just need reprogramming. A company I used to work for charged like £10-£15 to do it per mech. Some places did it/will do it and others won't bother.

Any coin/token can be programmed in on the majority of mechs afaik.

Used to wrap surgical tape round 10ps and the machines thought they were 50s.

The old old 10p the size of a cartwheel used to work on machines where the mech had not been updated... Could never find a good supply of them though and once the cash box was loaded after taking the hopper it was the case you only got one hit per machine/arcade
