This business is dying a slow death.

Post by prime101 »

Time to get a proper job. It's sad to think how many games there have been over the years, and now it is just deals, that are generally awful now with the odd exception. Those in denial will claim that things are still rosey but they really aren't. This is a slow torturous death from hereon in. The only survivors will be the smart individuals who tucked plenty of the winnings away and can withstand the slowdown. Gl all.

I disagree I'm finished my trade in 2 weeks I'm jacking it in to go full time. Its all about how much you want out off it. I have routes but only do 1 maybe 2 a week and do very well off them. so obviosly ill have time to do more which will hopefully rake in a few more quid. If it does end soon (which it isn't) ill just hop back with my uncle and start working again.

People expect the money to be on there doorstep. if your prepared to work hard then you can still make decent money.

give it a week you'll hit fat and all this will look silly

if this game was consistent it'll pretty quickly become boring(more)......never knowing whats ahead is all part and parcel.

everyone experiences the swings (apart from CF, but he don't even account for expenses)
He isn't right of course, he just thinks he is.

Every now and again you get some one staying this, same as anyone who fails to adapt in the commercial world, generally have a slow sprial to a demise.

Been said everytime somthing changes, at the end of the day there are still compensated % paying gaming machines that hold bigger than ever amounts in them. That has been a consistent upward trend.

The only one thing I can say that has changed is locations are more sparse, there was a time when a machine in a pub was 90% likely, takeaways, taxiranks, social clubs, bookies... changes in the law means lot of locations gone.

Where I am now 5 plus pubs don't have a machine that used to, a few social clubs, 2 bookies(another 4 machines), 3 takeaways... least 16 locations gone over the last 7 years.

There is no other reasons though is there?

you make a great point russ ,,,,,,,,,,,, the locations have dropped dramatically ,,,,,,,,,,,, even in city's like london with massive ''suit munter dinner hour'' turnover ,,,,,,, theres been a huge drop ,,,,,,,,, take brick lane for example , 5 years ago every pub had at least 1 , now its just lamps , bistro wine bars n curry houses, and because their always packed out with custom , i suppose they dont need the extra revenue and the hassle that comes with it from siting a machine ..

plus theres more players than ever ,,,,,,,,,, etc ,,,,,,,,, so i understand where the op is coming from ,

but like others have said , if your prepared to put all hours in , stay focused , dont go on tilt losing your discipline when by 8pm your only 20quid up somedays etc ,,,,,,,,,,, no matter how saturated the fruit scene is with players etc ,,,,,,,,,,, your always gonna be up overall on a week to week basis as long as you keep your head ,,,,,,,, and as long as the powers that be let us keep percentage based gaming ,,,,,,,,,, ? ? ?

are the hundreds coming ? , and if so , will they bring prosperity ? , or will they bring a change in the law ?

anyhow chin up ,,,,,,,,, we all have bad weeks.
Little discipline = BIG issue

Well... I definitely experience swings. It's just as I update the diary every week or so they with a total they're generally just caught in that and not noticed. Although I do point out some big losses on certain machines from time to time.

As for expenses, I sort of do and do not account for them. If i'm say on a night out then I don't consider there to be any expenses as it's a night out i'd be on and paying for anyway. Even then what I generally do is round down results. So say I make £63 on something I'll just log it as £60 to try and take the drink into account. If i've got fuel/train ticket to pay for then I knock that off too.

Though I am starting to wonder why that diary is even there. Due to the nature of it all I can't really go into any details on it so it doesn't actually say much and can't be very interesting to anyway. But it's nice (and important) for me to have a running total of how i'm doing, and that's where I started logging it, and i've just kept on doing it.

Compensated games do not necessarily lead to profits, look at rapid round cash ahoy blah blah well I mean 80% plus off the new games are just complete dross! Can be slow going at the moment as there IS just a lot of dross around and a LOT of players covering the good stuff. There again the odd day surprises you and you make well, as the profits per going machine are high, that last point saving the day for playing really!

The problem is the recovery time on fruits, when 70s 1st came out you could just about do aliens electros ect evry other day, evryday in some cases. How much money has a perfect got to take now after both stakes then say a ripped 35 box?
