Longest you've gone without having a bet?

As an adult in the UK, what is the longest you have gone without having a gamble.
Being in jail or somewhere where it isn't possible to have a bet doesn't count.

Also, I know some might say that when they play a machine it isn't a gamble, as they know they will win, but there is always the risk factor (coin mech breaking etc).

For me it is just coming up to two weeks. I went out last night and wasn't remotely interested in what machines each pub had. I didn't even look. I suppose I felt like a 'normal' pub goer. Probably over 20 years since I've been 'gamble' free. And if I'm honest I hope it lasts. We'll see tho.

People lose on playables so all fruits are a gamble no matter how clever people think they are

No horses for two weeks, no roulette this year. Longest break in thirty years. I'm old.

I am not really a gambler either. Until online poker came on the scene in the early 2000s I rarely used to genuinly bet on anyting. I would sometimes play fruits in pubs just to try and look like an ordinary punter and recycle any shrapnel quiz machines dropped on me. Being a quiz machine player I really prefer games with a 100% probabilty of winning LOL.

Good thread this, I can't honestly remember any great length of time where I haven't had a bet of some sort. I managed to not play roulette for about 5 weeks last year, and I wasn't in a coma or skint, i'd just had enough of it and wanted to be able to go about my business without feeling as though I was a slave to the bookmakers. I caved in eventually though. I don't bet heavily on football anymore, just have a small acca or a go at goals galore for a tenner or something. I wouldn't play a machine in a pub if I was with non-gambling friends, but on my own I would.

I've certainly cut down on roulette recently but i'm not kidding myself, it's only because I can't afford to play too often.

thank you old school,
this is the best thread that i've read in weeks,
the longest i've gone without a gamble would have to be 24hours,
apart from being abroad for a few weeks.
its hard not to gamble in this country,
every high st has a bookmaker,
not to mention the casinos & amusements, & when i come home after a hard days grafting, i put on the tv & a roulette wheel comes on the screen.
the goverment of this country has allowed us to become a nation of gamblers.
